Yes, You Are Called to Be a Leader for Christ

Yes, You Are Called to Be a Leader for Christ

Times are changing, and so are the ways people work and collaborate.  The idea of being a leader can be daunting.

When you consider the word  “leader  who and what comes to mind, perhaps your Pastor?  The BBC show the Apprentice? Your manager? A colleague at work in another team perhaps  or  an individual  who literally has “Project Leader”  on a business card or email signature?

Well, it may not be part of your job title, and you may even struggle to find the words in your job description, nevertheless, the call to follow Christ is a call to leadership.

In the Oxford ditionary a project Is defined as “an individual or collaborative enterprise that is carefully planned to achieve a particular aim”

When you think “project”, you typically think about big things, such as:

  • Church building developments
  • Developing a new product
  • IT system integration
  • Writing a tender

But actually, many smaller activities  can also be classed as a project, such as:

  • Creating and delivering an internal training course at church
  • Creating and sending a church e-newsletter
  • Creating new  team processes

In fact, according to David Allen,  pioneer  of the productivity system Getting Things Done (GTD), a ‘project’ is  any multi-step action. In other words, creating a new ad campaign, outreach planning, feeding the poor initiative, even buying a new car or making a 3-course dinner for your significant others are  all different  types of daily projects  you manage.

What does this mean for people  not called project leaders?

Well, failing to realise this could mean that you are missing out on important lessons that the  people with the ‘project leader’ label on their business cards know only too well.

If  you  approach  your daily tasks  and projects with the mindset, “I can do this in a structured, organized way,” then the outcome will substantially improve. Additionally, it may seem glaringly obvious, but someone needs to own a project, and not  every church  organisation or team  has a certified project leader to call upon.

1.   Change your approach

“Stake Your Claim That This Is Now a Project You‘re Managing”

Professional project leaders have formal training on the best way on approaching a project and use methodologies which take time to master. However, this  just isn’t appropriate for people who are juggling the role of unofficial project leader alongside many other tasks.

Simply changing your mindset can make a difference in how you approach the work.

2. Create an action plan

“Make a List of the Actions It Will Take to Get You to the End Goal”

It’s very easy to jump straight in and get moving on  a project. Spending time planning can seem like wasted time, but in fact, without good planning, you could be wasting your  time and energy on things that just aren’t needed. In other words, skipping the planning phase of a project is a sure-fire way of encountering problems  down the line. The basics of what you’ll need to establish include your project vision (or guiding light), what your project will deliver, the risks to the project as well as your budget, resources, and timescales  and don’t forget to pray before you start.  Prayer is the portal that brings the power of heaven down to earth. It is kryptonite to the Enemy and to all his ploys against you. Pray in the Spirit at all times and at every stage of the project.

3.  Set a realistic deadline

Without a Deadline Your Project Will Sit at the Bottom of Your To-do List and Will Go Nowhere

When it comes to assessing your timescales, you need to figure out what is realistically achievable, while not padding out your timelines too much.

4. Communicate regularly

Developing a Project in a Bubble Will Result in Problems Later On

Regular communication is vital.  Meetings, emails and even a quick trip to your colleague’s desk are all needed to make sure you have not missed anything important and  that  everyone in on the same page.

5. Faith is not a spectator sport.

The Opportunities are Endless and Harvest is Plentiful.

Finally, please remember aside from managing projects that faith is not a spectator sport. It’s easy to come to church to be entertained and not invest time in serving the church community. But Jesus isn’t here for our amusement. He didn’t die so we could experience cool sermons  alone. The Christians we remember throughout history were the men and women who did not wait on the sideline when there was work to be done.

There are many places to lead. The opportunities are endless and harvest is plentiful.

Playing God: Swedish Train operator uses Big Data to ‘avoid train delays that haven’t happened yet’

In a sign of things to come, a Swedish train operator is using new technology that employs big data to predict the entire commuter train system two hours into the future.

Welcome to the world of “Big Data.” We have more information at our fingertips than any generation in history. We live in the world of “Big Data.” That is the new way people are trying to describe this sea of digital facts, figures, products, books, music, video, and much more. Twitter, apps, Facebook–they’re each giving science new ways to look at what people do and why.

“Hopes, fears, and ethical concerns relating to technology are as old as technology itself.”

We actually welcome some aspect of Big Data. These mysterious data successes (or accidental successes) are easy to see as a kind of Big Brother future, where technology can track your every move and report back to ”¦ someone. However, StockholmstÃ¥g, the train operator is using new technology that employs big data to predict train delays before they happen.

“The Commuter Prognosis –  A Social Scientist’s Dream Come True.”

The mathematic algorithm, called “The commuter prognosis” was  developed in Stockholm, Sweden.

When a train is not on time the algorithm forecasts disruptions in the entire network by using historic big data  to  prevent the ripple effects that actually causes most delays.
Wilhelm Landerholm the mathematician who has developed the algorithm said:

“We have built a prediction model, using big data, that lets us visualize the entire commuter train system two hours into the future. We can now forecast disruptions in our service and our traffic control center can prevent the ripple effects that actually cause most delays.”

The algorithm has been tested but is not currently being  used by traffic controllers.

How  does it work?

The key to the model is a large  amount of historical data. The model works similar to a seismograph, an instrument that measures and records details of earthquakes, such as force and duration, but instead identifies late train arrivals. When this happens, the system  uses historical data from previous occurrences to forecast the likely  impact on the entire train network.

Real-time public transportation information is already used around the globe, however, traffic control centers still typically assess  delays manually to try and prevent further problems in a network. The commuter prognosis system, on the other hand, will forecast these delay effects instantaneously  and provide a prediction of how a single or multiple  disturbance might  affect  the whole  train network. The  commuter prognosis system could change how traffic control centers operate all over the world.

“The Effects of One Delayed Train Can Quickly Multiply Within a Train Network”

Imagine that “The commuter prognosis” forecasts that a train will be 10 minutes late to station C in two hours. To deal with this the traffic control center issues a new train from station A that will arrive on time at station C. As soon as the new train has been put in motion the algorithm re-calculates and gives the traffic control center a new forecast for the entire train network within minutes.”

The most important benefit of “The commuter prognosis” is that it  provides for a more punctual public transportation.

“The commuter prognosis” will be available in a smartphone app based on the original model. The app will integrate with other transportation big data to make commuting easier and  will indicate which coaches are more or less crowded.

Big Data, Ethics, and Religion

These stories remind us that even though companies and governments are doing amazing things with data, it’s at best imperfect. The algorithms and programs they use to filter and respond to data are at least as fallible as the human beings who designed them.  We can also see its complexity and failures as evidence of the amazing omnipotence of our God – who doesn’t make errors and who knows right where to find us, even inside a great fish or the depths of hell.

The arrival of big data has already brought with it numerous questions that have yet to be properly addressed. These questions are methodological, epistemological, and ethical, and they concern (inter alia) the ways in which data is collected, stored, interpreted, represented, and traded.  A further complication is a speed with which data science is advancing, which means that (for example) the application of legal and ethical restrictions to the practice of that science will always risk being several steps behind the point that it has currently reached. There are indications that we are currently sleepwalking towards a situation in which the commercial exploitation of big data routinely increases social division, and renders privacy a thing of the past.

Ket factors

  • A mathematical model interprets big data to forecasts for each train in the train network.
  • The commuter prognosis can warn about delays two hours before the departure or arrival actually takes place.
  • The commuter prognosis calculates how the delay affects other trains in the system.
  • The purpose of “the commuter prognosis” is to make life easier for traffic control centers and to give passengers  a better service.
  • In the future, the algorithm will be potentially adaptable for more types of public transportations and cities.

Spectacular Architecture and Infrastructure Projects That Take Your Breath Away

DBOX for CIM Group & Macklowe Properties

The advent of the ‘megaproject’ is truly upon us as such projects become a key feature of city landscapes.

The Empire State Building, the Panama Canal, the Regatta Hotel in Indonesia – these are just a few of the architectural and infrastructure wonders of the world that you probably take for granted. With the National Geographic putting images on the map and now the Internet fuelling easy access to pics, it’s easy to forget how difficult these projects are for engineers to build. Behind the scenes, much goes on to tackle the making of a magnificent bridge, building or highway and byway. Here are a few such projects that should cause you to sit up and have your breath taken away because of their grandiosity, complexity and stunning beauty.

New York Residential Building

Still in the building stages, a residential towel at 432 Park Avenue is set to be one of the most expensive addresses in the U.S. Taller than the Empire State Building by 50 meters, the 426 meter building is considerably large, but plans to host just 104 apartments. Living in the building will cost you, though. If you’ve got $17 million you can start the process of bargaining for an apartment; however, the best apartments are the penthouses that will span an entire floor and go for $82 million or more.

The Panama Canal

Now that the Panama Canal has been in place nearly 100 years, we take for granted how it revolutionised trade and travel. The recent billion dollar improvement projects increased the length and width of the canal, adding more locks at both ends of the passageway connecting the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. Now that even bigger container vessels can travail the Canal, neighboring Nicaragua is in the planning stages of building its own canal – to the tune of $40 billion. The best and brightest engineers harnessed real ingenuity to figure out how to tame Mother Nature to advance the cause of expanding travel.

Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge, China

Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge, China

Hong Kong’s bridge project is one of the largest most complex in the world and uses a series of tunnels and bridges to connect three major cities: Hong Kong, Zhuhai and Macau. Costing more than $10 billion to build, it will drive the freight land transport needs of the region as well as facilitate the movement of passengers between the cities. The three-lane bridge and tunnel roadway includes the construction of two artificial islands to accommodate the building of the various roads involved with the project.

These and other architectural projects that defy gravity, plunge the depths of the ground and cover the sea are a wonder to behold. They put the best of human genius to work to solve complex problems such as how to build a bridge over a considerable expanse of water and accommodate tunnels under the water. The creativity of the world’s engineers and architects are put to the test, and they come up as winners every time with projects like the Park Avenue residential building, the Panama Canal and The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge.  However, the human mind still can’t come close to understanding the vastness of the whole universe. But as we get better at it, we clearly see two things: how tiny and insignificant man is by himself—and just how huge and wonderful is the plan that God most have for us!

Godinterest: Pinterest Meets … God?

Prayer at the Closing of Another Year

This month our staff got the chance to catch up with  Dean Jones, creator of  Godinterest. We got to sit down and discuss what it meant to run your own community and gained some  great community management insight!

[waveplayer ids=”12677″]

What is Godinterest?
Godinterest  is a Christian social media site created in June 2014. Its purpose is to promote Christian values and facilitate spiritual inspiration through the sharing of photographs and other media in the style of Pinterest. Its content includes media about Christian history, personal family-oriented stories and various content from a Christian viewpoint. According to Quantcast, Godinterest received more than seven thousand visits in its first month of activity and reached more than six thousand users monthly. Furthermore, its users tend to be young adults from the middle class. Females outnumber males, (55% to 45%).

How long have you been running it?
Just over 1 year now. We stumbled across the SocialEngine CMS in 2012 when working on a couple of social networks for clients and really liked it, however, we had already committed to other CMS’s. After building three large successful social networks between 2010 – 2014 (using phpfox, pligg and boonex with social apps), we were utterly fed up with all the bugs we encountered. We’ve been in the web development business for over 20 years, so we know a thing or two about developing websites using almost every CMS available on the market today. Back then, we already had the idea of creating a photo-sharing site, but were still developing the concept; and were not satisfied with what the other popular CMS providers were offering. We then re-visited the SocialEngine in January 2014 and were overly impressed with the new cloud product offering and decide to visualize and conceptualize  Godinterest.com  using SocialEngine.

What did we like about SocialEngine?
A match made in heaven we like to say. SocialEngine offered us what none of the other CMS’s could in that it enabled us to setup a high quality website quickly and efficiently, with minimal technical knowledge and a fit-for-purpose template, enabling us then to concentrate on one of the most important aspects of building a successful social network; namely concept, promotion and marketing. We have seen so many failed social networking websites. This happened because the community manager did not consider target audience and promotion. If you’re running a niche website then it may not appeal to everyone so you need to target a certain audience.

Setting up a successful website?
Setting up  Godinterest.com  was a breeze. Because of the concept, it didn’t take long before we started to attract a lot of media attention. To date,  Godinterest.com  has been featured in the Huffington Post (USA), Evening Standard (UK), The Washington Post (USA), The Birmingham News and over twenty other notable news sources. Apart from social marketing, our blog is one of the best things we ever started, where we have a following of over 15,000 people. On the day we were featured on Huffington Post, our website received over 100,000 page views and over 2,000 users in 2 days and stayed online. So if you’re a community manager wondering if SocialEngine cloud is built to scale, we have just answered your question.

A community manager’s job is”¦ never done
Before you attempt to start a community, know that it’s going to be hard work and that your work is never done. We’ll say this again, a website is never finished. If it is to be successful, you will need to update it frequently. The community will need to be monitored daily. It may be quiet at times, and you may need to get involved in community discussions and debates in order to get the community buzzing. We spend considerable time monitoring the website, moderating posts etc. You may need to monitor content if you have certain topic restrictions. If not, just let the discussions run themselves. Our website has categories and we continually review these to ensure members are posting in the right place. As not everyone in this day-and-age is tech-savvy, you will need to be on hand so your users can reach out to you directly for help.

Favorite moment when setting up the community?
This had to be when we started to attract real media attention. It was exciting, but not all media attention is positive. You have to learn to take the good with the ugly. A good media expert told us: “There’s no such thing as bad media.”

What inspired us to setup the website?
Well we have a deep belief in God and wanted to create a central resource for all. A friend of ours, who happens to be an atheist, asked me where he could purchase a Bible. We stated that Amazon or eBay might be a good starting place. However, wouldn’t it be great if everybody could go to one location and find and create lists of what they wanted? The idea grow from there.

What are your future plans?
We plan to continue to grow the network and add more features. We’re really looking forward to launching both iPhone and Android apps once the SocialEngine API has been upgraded.

Godinterest: The Christian Kind of Pinterest, with Music and Sermon Promotions

When Pinterest first hit the scene, it was fascinating.  Writers like this Christian reporter on Examiner found ourselves pinning away  and creating boards just like the rest of the general public – as well as finding geeky and only slightly legal ways to beef up our followings by auto-following other users whom we hoped and prayed would return the favor and follow us back. As far as pins that were related to Christian stuff, however, well those tended to end up segregated to boards on Pinterest called “Christian stuff,” as if we were giving our followers fair warning that a reference or two or 20 to John 14:6 might be found therein. Whatever Happened to Jesus?

The remarkable ratings of  The Bible  miniseries on the History Channel led to the release of the new film  Son of God.

Serious, Biblically correct films like Son of God make it easy to forget the Jesus Christ Superstar-style whimsical messiah who once reigned at box offices.

Producers played up the fact that it had been  10 years since Mel Gibson’s  Passion of the Christ  was released and grossed at the box office more than $600 million internationally. In its opening weekend, the  Son  of  God  made  $26 million—not bad, given that its content had previously aired on television.

Both films are serious for their revenue generating, their strategic niche marketing to the religiously devout, and their tone, style, and approach.  The Passion  was two hours of brutality. Some reviewers screamed that it was a  horror flick, not a holy one. Gibson was intent on accuracy (or at least how his particular Catholicism viewed the sacred story). The characters did not speak English and he had the color of actor  Jim Caviezel’s eyes digitally altered from blue to brown and gave him a prosthetic nose  to make him look “authentically” Jewish. The  Son of God  is serious in its own way.  A “political thriller” and an epic “love story,”  the film features  overtly evangelical themes  of the virgin birth, miraculous healings, vicious crucifixion, and the resurrection.

Self Interest as God’s Interest

We are initially informed of #God’s interest by the expression of gratification in the creation of man,  and as subsequently manifested by his association with man.

While reflecting on the magnitude of creation the Psalmist was constrained to exclaim,

“When I consider the heavens the work of thy fingers, and the stars which thou has ordained, what is man that thou art mindful of him? Psalm 8:4-6 King James Version (KJV).

Sometimes in our earthly mind, the awesomeness of God is lost.

Galatians’¬ ’5’¬:’25’¬ If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Isn’t God interested in every part of our lives, not just the spiritual part. So if we believe that we should live by the Holy Spirit’s power, we need then to submit every aspect of our lives to God,  emotionally, physically, socially, intellectually  and  vocationally.

Paul says that because we’re saved, we should live like it! The Holy Spirit is the source of our new life’s, so keep in step with its leading. Don’t let anything or anyone else determine your values and standards in any area of your life.

God’s interest in humility goes beyond our comprehension.  Jesus took off the robes of Deity, and put on the robes of humanity, then died on a cross just for us, because He loves us so much; so we could have communion with him, and so we could spend eternity in with Him, when we accept Him as our Lord and Saviour.

When we abide in God, when we are one with Him, we can literally ask whatever we want and He will do it for us (John 15:7).

Who’s In Charge of the Christian Blogosphere?

in 2017 Christian Today Blogger asked  “Who’s In Charge of the Christian Blogosphere?”

The rise of the blogosphere in the early 2000s yielded the genre of the “spiritual blogger.” From the comfort of their living rooms, lay people suddenly became household names, wielding influence over tens of thousands of followers. A new kind of Christian celebrity—and authority—was born: the speaker and author who comes to us (often virtually) as a seemingly autonomous voice, disembedded from any larger institution or ecclesial structure.

Godinterest has  given occasion to a whole new set of conversations about Christianity in public life and represents a tremendous opportunity for publication, discussion, cross-fertilization, and critique of a kind never seen before. In principle, at least, the Internet offers an opportunity to break down old barriers and engender new communities.

“The Purpose at Hand Is to Foster a More Self-Reflective, Collaborative, and Mutually-Aware Christian Blogosphere.”

Savvy Godinterest users have available to them the means to develop a quite sophisticated picture of their readership. So what is missing,  perhaps  the following?

“The Spiritual Wisdom and Religious Insights of the Bloggers That Currently Use Godinterest Continues to Provide the Life’s Blood of the Site.”

It should be evident by now that the Christian blogosphere is no unified thing, However,  with its ease of access, the Godinterest certainly offers the means for under-represented voices  to find a public voice. With greater flexibility, Godinterest offers the opportunity for a renaissance in serious Christian social media coverage.

Is there really a Christian Blogosphere?

The very idea of a Chrsitian  blogosphere – a network of blogs devoted to discussing the place of Christianity in public life – is in essence what Godinterest is becoming.

The community at Godinterest  represents the possibility of a common conversation among a diverse set of voices. Godinterest allows for far more cross-fertilization among far-flung communities than currently exists, and a wider variety of Christian bloggers will   no doubt benefit from being in  closer proximity  to one another which will inadvertently  facilitate interaction.

Academics Have Taken to Godinterest Like Ducks to Water

Once upon a time, a blogger was defined as someone who published personal musings on an online journal.

Today, blogging is a major component of  content marketing  — a practice  88 percent of B2B marketers  now leverage to raise brand awareness and promote products.    In an astounding feat of bits and bytes, the internet buzzes with activity, teeming with thousands of terabytes of digitized information flowing  every minute.

The Stature of Web Authoring Is Growing Both Personally and Professionally.   WordPress Is Great, But It’s Not Always The Best Solution!

With that being said, even though WordPress is one of the most beloved website building systems out there and  powers 25% of the internet, that doesn’t mean it’s the  best choice for everyone in the world  who wants to publish articles online.

Godinterest, com has  given occasion to a whole new set of conversations about religion in public life. Godinterest represents a tremendous opportunity for publication, discussion, cross-fertilization, and critique of a kind never seen before. In principle, at least, the Internet offers an opportunity to break down old barriers and engender new communities.

The purpose at hand is to foster a more self-reflective, collaborative, and mutually-aware blogosphere and community.

Why bother?

The growing influence of blogs is indisputable.  The mainstream press is looking more like the blogosphere. Old-guard newspapers and magazines now host blogs by reporters and columnists on their websites.  Because of their ease of publication and use, blogs have changed the shape of public discourse in society as a whole and around religious questions in particular. Godinterest is a powerful and flexible medium, one uniquely suited to providing the space for vibrant, diverse, and productive discussions about religion around the blog posts its users create.

“Academics, especially in the arts and humanities, have taken to Godinterest like ducks to water.”

Social Media Envy!

Sin - exceedingly sinful
Anyone currently active on social media knows that Godinterest is slowly developing  into an incredible phenomena. Idea sharing and photo sharing combined in the ultimate setting of graphic after graphic, interests and likes can be decided and shared in two clicks or less. There hasn’t been a day before now where the saying “A picture is worth a thousand words” is more true.
Can we  just tell you that there are a ton of posts  on Godinterest  that fall under the categories listed above?   And that is why people  love it! But we do need to check ourselves  from time to time as there is a  danger that we just might be forming the wrong thought pattern about certain things, thereby transforming them into sin.

“If You Are a Christian Who Seeks God with Your Whole Heart, You Are a Target.”

Instead of playing the comparing game on social media, what if we stick to the guideline of God’s Word? Let’s seek recipes, means of hospitality, and all sorts of ideas and content, yet be sure that we do so without envy and with our identity firmly planted in #Christ.

“We Live in a Time of Great Stress, When Trials Can Come upon Us Suddenly and Leave Us Overwhelmed, Weary and Confused.”

Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in #Christ  Jesus – Philippians 2:4

Godinterest continues to withstand attacks by hackers and censors as the media outlet expands. A hacking attack which took place over the weekend inflicted superficial damage which was quickly repaired. Hackers remain unable to penetrate the site’s security, but the unwanted attention shows that the evil is hard at work.

Kingdom of God

Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the #kingdom-of-God  was a saying given by Jesus in the New Testament. From Matthew 18:1-6 (KJV)

We Care for Children Because, Whether We Are Aware of It or Not, There Is in All of Us God-Given Knowledge That Little Ones Are So Precious.

They deserve  more  care because they are defenceless. They are a gift. They demand a great deal of attention, oh yes; children are  costly, but there are supposed to be. They teach us that life isn’t just  about us,  but  about others and that we  will be more  fulfilled  and  more happy when we sacrifice our own comforts in order to love our neighbour.

Below are some inspirational  photos about #kingdom-of-God  we found  on  Godinterest

This Life Isn’t Easy; Most of the Stages of Our Lives Are About Sacrifice and Suffering.

The world is surrounded by wars, hunger and poverty. And sometimes it gets hard to find goodness above it all, but we  don’t know if you see this, but this is the exact temptation that we face. Our sin naturally inclines us to see kids not as a blessing but as a distraction, not a joy but a  drain.  How wrong we are, and how rebuked by #Jesus’ example.

A Magic Moment from The #City-Of-God.

Have you seen the film? Well we truly believe “a child is like a blank canvas On which we  may create a  painting so beautiful. But let me tell you – and make no mistake Whatever the colours are, that we  decide to choose Will make this child a winner or one that may just loose So as you take that paint brush, to leave your lasting mark Remember that your actions, determine this child’s spark Every stroke upon that canvas can never be undone.”  (Deborah Chaplin)

The Tells Us That Children Are a Reward from (Psalm 127:3). According to the Promise of Proverbs, a Child Who Is Diligently Trained in The “Way He Should Go” Will  Remain True to That.

Unfortunately,  Children Are the Real Victims of World Hunger: At Least 70% of the Malnourished People in  the World Are Children and Around Forty Thousand Children a Day Die of Starvation. Many People Are Already Motivated to Help Children in Need , However, What Are You Doing to Help?

Jesus Said, “Suffer Little Children, and Forbid Them Not, to Come unto Me: For of Such Is the Kingdom of Heaven”. This Is So Like Jesus. In One Sentence, He Gives Us a Whole Theology of Children, One That Blows  Us Away and Dramatically Redefines  Our Thinking.

This is who we at Godinterest aspire to help. We  think of there  future all the time. We  write so that someday, she, and others like her, will have an equal chance to succeed and to live a happy and productive live.  Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD,  the fruit of the womb a reward Psalm 127:3.

For of Such Is the #kingdom-of-God.

Children  just keep on giving. However, the world has  declared war on our children. They have wiggled and moved and jumped at their parents’ voices, and then they have suffered violence, and writhed in death. This is not sensationalist. It is cold, hard fact.  The gospels leave us with many important clues, none more important than this. How did the Lord Jesus treat children?

And Finally, as a Christian Parent, You Have the Wonderful Privilege, and Responsibility, to Claim the LORD’s Word, His Promises, for the Conversion of Your Children…  Behold, Children Are a Heritage from the LORD,  the Fruit of the Womb a Reward  Psalm 127:3…

Bibliography Information
The heart of Jesus’ teachings centers around the theme of the kingdom of God. This expression is found in sixty-one separate sayings in the Synoptic Gospels. Counting parallels to these passages, the expression occurs over eighty-five times. It also occurs twice in John (3:3, 5). It is found in such key places as the preaching of John the Baptist, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near” (  Matt 3:2  ); Jesus’ earliest announcement, “The time has come”¦ The kingdom of God is near. Repentand believe the good news!” (  Mark 1:15  ; cf.  Matt 4:17  ;  Luke 4:42-43  ); the prayer Jesus taught his disciples, “your kingdom come” (  Matt 6:10  ); in the Beatitudes, “for theirs is the kingdom of heaven” (  Matthew 5:3  Matthew 5:10  ); at the Last Supper, “I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it a new in the kingdom of God” (  Mark 14:25  ); and in many of Jesus’ parables (  Matthew 13:24  Matthew 13:44  Matthew 13:45  Matthew 13:47  ;  Mark 4:26  Mark 4:30  ;  Luke19:11  ).

Lecrae: “Jesus Muzik”

Jesus Muzik” is the second single from  Lecrae’s second studio album,  After the Music Stops. It is critically acclaimed and was nominated for two GMA Dove Awards.  The song also features fellow  Christian hip hop  artist  Trip Lee. The lyrics discuss the problems with the content of secular  hip hop, and the importance for  Christians  of listening to  Christian music  to glorify God.

Christian Hip Hop (Originally Gospel Rap, Also Known as Rap, Gospel Hip Hop, or Holy Hip Hop) Is Hip Hop Music Characterized by a Christian Worldview.

One thing that is clear, is that for as long as we can remember  Christian flavored Hip Hop was looked upon as a step child of the genre.

Most Would Agree That the Extent to Which Christian Hip Hop Lyrics Are Explicitly Christian Seems to Vary Between Bands.

That is  until artists such as #Lacrae  Moore emerged a  Grammy Award–winning rapper who now, like it or not, represents the face of the gospel hip-hop movement  with hit  songs like “#Jesus Muzik,” “Don’t Waste Your Life” (based on the sermon by John Piper), and “Black Rose. Hashtag #Lacrae  has also been trending on Godinterest since Godinterest  introduced YouTube, Vimeo, Sound Cloud and various other social media post embedding.

Another thing that is clear is that Bible Christianity, if practiced properly, will make you extremely UNPOPULAR with the world, just as it did John the Baptist, and the early Christians in the Book of Acts.

And so we seem to have two main groups:

  1. A  large proportion of Christians that  say you can’t repackage secular  music and label it as being “Christian”  (it  maybe  “religious hip-hop”; but it  certainly  isn’t  Christian like), and
  2. A group  who  firmly believe that  it all depends on who your singing too?

So which group  are you and why?

Mom This Is How Godinterest, The Christian Social Network Works

Godinterest  is an online photo-driven Christian social networking tool in which users re-post  images  of whats happening on the web and in their lives along with links to things they think are simply #Godinteresting, funny, or useful to their followers (“following” being essentially what “friending” is on other sites). People use #Godinterest  in many ways, some as a newsfeed by following prominent people or networks, some as a pseudo-chatroom by limiting their followers and whom they follow to close friends and family, and some as a microblog for updating people about the work they are doing and their personal lives using photos.

“GODINTEREST USERS”

Godinterest  users choose who they do and do not follow. They have total control of what news they receive on their ‘following’ page. When I refer to your “homepage”, I’m referring to the feed that you see when signed into Godinterest  containing your and your followers posts. This is different from your personal Godinterest  page (Godinterest.com/yourusername) which contains all of your posts  including your replies to other users. You can have an unlimited amount of followers, but only follow a select few people if you want, making it easy to stay in touch with the people you care to stay in touch with.

WHO SEES WHAT

Anyone that follows @you will see your posts  on their homepage.    By putting another person’s @username at the start of a statement, it will  show up in  their notifications.

DIRECT MESSAGING

Direct Messages are private messengers  (to other Godinterest  users / the general public) that are exchanged between two users that follow each other. You cannot direct message someone that does not follow you and vice versa. Direct messages are the only private way to converse on Godinterest. “DM’s” are basically like emails. They are unsearchable on Godinterest.

HASHTAGS

Hashtags # are a way to label posts  so that other users can see posts  on the same topic. Hashtags contain no spaces or punctuation and begin with a “#” symbol.

Godinterest  users create trending topics by using hash tags. For instance, a user might create a hashtag as a fun way to start a conversation like #God #Bless #Christian #ChristianSocialNetwork
Lastly, hashtags are used to punctuate statements or jokes on Godinterest. Some Godinterest  users make sentence-long hashtags for comic effect.
