Let’s Support

According to recent news, four out of every ten children in our culture live in homes without their

. Close to half of our children are being raised by single parents or find themselves part of a “blended” family. The so-called nuclear family consisting of two parents and their children is no longer the norm.

Single parents face many challenges. Single parents must accomplish on their own what often is a challenge for two parents. Without a partner, however, they need emotional support. Some single parents find themselves deep in debt and often face financial hardship. Some no longer feel accepted by former friends because their partner is gone.

Today, single parents need the help of the Christian community. In the Old Testament, God made provisions for widows and orphans. James calls us to put our faith into practice by reaching out to them. Had James been writing today, he would have included single parents and their children too. You and I may need to step in and help. Look around in your church for such needs and help. You can help care for young children, accept single-parent families into fellowship groups, and provide financial assistance. In the church, everyone should be accepted and included.

Religion that … [is] pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress. (James 1:27).

Let’s Pray

Yahweh, help us as members of your church to reach out to all who stand alone as they raise their children, Father give us all the grace to accept and learn from each other. In Jesus, Amen.

He Is Alive

Jesus the Good Shepherd

Two years had passed since Paul came to the palace prison in Caesarea. Festus is now the governor instead of Felix. Felix thought he would be doing Paul’s accusers a favour by leaving Paul in prison, but they wanted more. Two years is a long time to wait for a decision from the court. Two years is also a long time to hold on to anger, but Paul’s accusers still want Paul to be killed. The devil and people want you dead when you are serving God.

Scripture says Festus is puzzled about how to investigate the charges and the claim that Jesus is alive. He realises he has been asked to decide a religious question about Jewish customs and practices (no being a Jew), so he asks Paul if he wants to stand trial at Jerusalem. Rather than return to Jerusalem, Paul, as a Roman citizen, appeals for his case to be heard by the emperor, Caesar.

Leading up to this, Paul says, “If I am guilty of anything deserving death, I do not refuse to die”. He is willing to die, but he must be heard. He continues to follow the plan of God to be heard in Rome.

Today the twists and turns of Paul’s life are clarified by this truth, “Jesus is alive”. Paul was headed to Rome to testify about Jesus before the highest court in the world. Festus the fearless leader may have been puzzled, but Paul is certain. Jesus is alive, and others need to know this good news. I pray this is our testimony.

“They had some points of dispute with [Paul] about their own religion and about a dead man named Jesus who Paul claimed was alive. I was at a loss how to investigate . . .” (Acts 25:19-20).

Let’s Pray

Yahweh our Father, may the praise, testimony, and witness of our lives always be centred on this truth that puzzles people still today: Jesus is alive! May we shout it throughout this sin-cursed world. In His name we pray, Amen.

Stay Under The Tap

Raised in a broken home; his parents split when he was aged 7; he felt abandoned by his dad. He attended one of the worst schools in London, one that was full of violence, drugs and other crimes. It was later closed down. He experimented with cigarettes, weed, alcohol and pornography; he struggled with sexual sin, leading to fornication and adultery, which led to relationship break-ups. He was arrested for embezzlement and had his first bout with jail. Misdemeanour crimes, leading to another bout with jail. He was homeless, sleeping on floors, in his car, with no money or food.

As I look back over my life, all of the above have led to, and still lead to, difficult times of depression, loneliness, self-blame and ongoing sin, and sometimes it becomes hard to minister thinking of all the hurt I have caused myself, others and God.

Just recently, after reading the daily lesson and powerful books by Joyce Meyers and Beth Moore, I realised that all of my sins and hardships have all served as preparation for ministry and service. This could be the bio of Abraham, David, Solomon, Paul, Peter and many more. Today, I think that these shortfalls and sins, some of which still haunt me till this day, are my real CV for ministry, not my BA in Religion and my certifications in substance abuse counselling, but in my weakness God has become strong, and out of that strength God has given me a testimony that has helped thousands of people around the world. Hallelujah!!

If you are going through a storm, my word to you is to hold on, don’t give up. If God brought me through, He will bring you through. The Word of God says He will never leave you and, in your weakness, He is made strong. And even though you may have caused your own pain, Isaiah 61:4-8 says God will use it for ministry, and make your ministry achieve double.

Today, if you are feeling broken there’s only one way to be filled. Stay under the tap of the Holy Ghost! The moment you leave the tap you will not be filled with His power. God wants to fill you all day, every day. You are not bad, you are weak, and God still can, and will, use you, because it shows that He is bigger than your trial, and stronger than the devil and man. It’s time to rise above the opinions of man and turn your eyes upon Jesus.

The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favour and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion… (Isaiah 61:1-3 NIV)

Let’s Pray

Yahweh, I thank You for loving me, after knowing what I’ve done and what I will do, and I thank You for my friends that will receive freedom from these words. Father, I don’t want to keep on hurting and being hurt. Help me to hate my sins, and to daily wash in Your blood. God, thank You for not leaving me when everybody else thought I was too filthy. Help those who don’t understand how You can still use broken, stained, and sinful people. You are awesome. Thank You. I LOVE YOU! Amen.

Peace, Not As The World Gives

Worldly Peace Vs. God’s Peace

We are all in need of inner peace. We look to relationships, addictions, money, gadgets and even religion to try to find something that will fill our void. But true peace isn’t found in anything this world has to offer, it can only be found through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Only He can satisfy the longing in our souls and give us true, lasting peace.

Remember, God gives freely, not as the world gives. You can’t earn it, and you can’t pay for it. There’s no catch, no fine print and no strings attached. You can rest assured that He’s not ever going to take His peace away; His peace is eternal!

Today, begin your life of peace by inviting Jesus to be your Lord and Saviour. Then as you align your thoughts, attitudes and actions with His Word, that peace will flood every area. Peace is how we know we are following God’s plan, because God’s plan always leads to peace! If you’re looking for peace today, call on His name. Make Him your Lord and Saviour, follow His Word and allow His peace to flood every area of your life.

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”(John 14:27, NIV)

Let’s Pray

Yahweh, thank You for the gift of peace which passes all understanding. Father, I receive Your peace today, and trust that You are leading and guiding me in the way You want me to go. Thank You, in Christ’ name! Amen.

Finding God in Each Day

While teaching RE last week at school to my GCSE students, the text books reminded us that before the foundation of the world, God laid out a plan for your life. He created you on purpose, with a purpose and for a purpose. He created you to be successful! He has moments already laid out that are going to come across your path. These moments are not ordinary. They have supernatural consequences. They are destiny-altering moments. They are designed to thrust you forward in your life.

The Bible tells us in the book of Ecclesiastes, that time and chance come together for every person. That means you will have opportunities to meet the right people, opportunities to advance in your career, and opportunities to fulfil your dreams and visions. So stay focused, stay in faith and not fear, stay in expectation. Stay in God’s Word and His will, and praise God in advance. God has already prepared for you times of increase, promotion and blessing.

Today, open your eyes of faith and see the good things God has in store for your future. Thank Him for what He’s doing and what He’s about to do. Thank Him for divine connections and moments that God has prepared for your success. He is ready and willing to fulfil every dream and desire He’s placed within your heart!

“”¦time and chance happen to them all.”

(Ecclesiastes 9:11, AMPC)

Pray With Me
Yahweh, thank You for those special moments and divine opportunities in my life. Father, I know You are working on my behalf no matter what the circumstances look like. God, I choose today to stay focused, stay in faith not fear, stay in expectation and stay in Your Word and Your will. I praise You in advance of my increase, promotion and blessings, knowing that You are a rewarder of those who diligently seek after You, in Christ’s Name! Amen.

A Vital Necessity

Have you ever sat down and considered what’s important in your life? What do you consider to be vital or a necessity? What can’t you live without? Most of us would say food, water and shelter. Yes, you need those things to exist, but we can’t really live unless our minds and hearts are set on seeking the Lord who is the giver of life.

Sure, you can exist without a knowledge of God, but you can’t live without Him giving you the breath you need to stay alive, but if that’s all you want from God what’s the point? He has much more in store for you. Besides, you are called to more than just mere existence; you are called to live – to thrive – to enjoy your life abundantly!

Today, set your mind beyond mere existence, set your heart on seeking the Lord for all He has for you! Write down your needs and wants, match them up to God’s promises in scriptures, commit them to memory. Whenever you can, think about those verses. Meditate on God and His infinite love. When you see the Lord as a vital necessity in and for your life, you will truly live and enjoy the abundant life He has in store for you! Hallelujah!

“Set your mind and heart to seek (inquire of and require as your vital necessity) the Lord your God”¦”

(1 Chronicles 22:19, AMPC)

Pray With Me
Yahweh, today I choose to set my mind on You. Father, I need You not just for existence, but to truly live, therefore I seek You with my whole heart. God, please show me Your love and character today as You meet my needs and supply my wants. Lord, show me Your ways that I may walk and live close to You, in Jesus’ Name! Amen.

Justin Bieber Drops a Kanye Bombshell as He Opens up about Leading Worship

“I like making the music that I make,” Bieber said when asked if he would be recording a worship album.

Justin’s has immersed himself in religion in recent years, attending both Churchome and Hillsong services, and now it looks like he’s taking on a bigger role.

On Wednesday night Justin Bieber led worship at a Churchome service in Beverly Hills. Clips from the performance went viral on social media.

He wrote,

Sang at church last night. God is pulling me through a hard season. Having trust in Jesus at your worst times is the absolute hardest. But he is faithful to complete what he started. I also want to thank my wife for being such a huge support in my life through this season ”¦ it says in the Bible count it ALL JOY when you face trials of various kinds. Sounds insane considering when u face trials u feel terrible. But if we are grateful and worship god for what we do have in that season there is so much power in that”¦ whatever pain you are going through just keep telling yourself THIS WONT LAST! Love you guys we in this together

According to TMZ, pastor Judah Smith explained to the congregation that it was time for Bieber to help lead the flock in song after years of being a worshipper.

Bieber says his breakout moment was part of a larger message he wants to spread.

The 25-year-old has been open about his faith – particularly in recent years – attending services at Churchome and Hillsong.

In the caption to an Instagram post featuring a few clips from the evening, Bieber alluded to some recent struggles in life during this “hard season”, but also said he is leaning on his faith to get him through. He also encouraged others who are experiencing difficult times to rely on Christ.

THE PRAYER THAT CHANGED MY LIFE

The freedom to build. The freedom to change. The freedom to share.

There are two kinds of prayer – the prayer of form and the prayer of faith. The repetition of set and the customary phrases when the heart feels no need of God, is formal prayer.

We should be extremely careful in all our prayers to speak the wants of the heart and to say only what we actually mean. All the flowery words at our command are not equivalent to one holy desire. The most eloquent prayers are but vain repetitions if they do not express the true sentiments of the heart. But the prayer that comes from an earnest heart, when the simple wants of the soul are expressed just as we would ask an earthly friend for help, expecting that it would be granted – this is the prayer of faith.

The publican who went up to the temple to pray is a good example of a sincere, devoted worshiper. He felt that he was a sinner, and his great need led to an outburst of passionate desire,

“God be merciful to me a sinner.”

Luke 18:13

After we have offered our petitions, we are to answer them ourselves as far as possible, and not wait for God to do for us what we can do for ourselves. The help of God is held in reserve for all who demand it. Divine help is to be combined with human effort, aspiration, and energy. But we cannot reach the battlements of heaven without climbing for ourselves. We cannot be borne up by the prayers of others when we ourselves neglect to pray; for God has made no such provision for us.

The unlovely traits in our characters are not removed, and replaced by traits that are pure and lovely, without some effort on our part!

In our efforts to follow the copy set us by our Lord Jesus Christ, we shall make crooked lines. Yet let us not cease our efforts. Temporary failure should make us lean more heavily on Christ.

The more you pray, the more you will find to pray about, and the more you’ll be led to pray for others.

Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

Jeremiah 29:12, 13

Pray With Me
Heavenly Father, I look up to you in this time of change. Allow me to have the courage to change my life for the better. Allow all my burdens to be risen up to you as I know that You will see me through. Forgive those who have done evil and allow me to do the same. Teach me to love with an open heart and open spirit. Take time for me today to help with all the trials you have set out for me and allow me the strength and energy to follow you. Give me the blessings to find a new home, keep my family together, and bless those who are away, may they be strong and know how much love is out there. Let them know you and I are thinking of them and missing them dearly. Bless me with love, strength, wisdom, health, courage, forgiveness, and a willingness to learn.

Did you know?

Here are five facts about prayer, including survey data on Americans’ prayer habits and historical instances of prayer intersecting with the government:

  1. A Pew Research Center survey conducted in 2014 found that 45% of Americans — and a majority of Christians (55%) — say they rely a lot on prayer and personal religious reflection when making major life decisions. The same survey found that 63% of Christians in the U.S. say praying regularly is an essential part of their Christian identity.
In 2014 — in the case Town of Greece v. Galloway — the Supreme Court ruled that U.S. legislative and administrative bodies may begin their sessions with a prayer. On some occasions, however, the high court has rejected other types of state-sponsored prayer. For instance, in 1962’s Engel v. Vitale, the court famously struck down a policy requiring public school students to begin their day with a nonsectarian prayer.
  2. The National Day of Prayer was enacted in 1952 by the Congress and President Harry S. Truman. As with the addition of “under God” to the Pledge of Allegiance in 1954, the move came during the Cold War and was seen as a way of contrasting the more religious United States with the officially atheistic Soviet Union.
  3. The Freedom From Religion Foundation unsuccessfully challenged the National Day of Prayer in court. The 7th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in 2011 that the group, which aims to promote the separation of church and state, did not have legal standing to challenge the law.
  4. For many Americans, every day is a day of prayer. More than half (55%) of Americans say they pray every day, according to a 2014 Pew Research Center survey, while 21% say they pray weekly or monthly and 23% say they seldom or never pray. Even among those who are religiously unaffiliated, 20% say they pray daily. Women (64%) are more likely than men (46%) to pray every day. And Americans ages 65 and older are far more likely than adults under 30 to say they pray daily (65% vs. 41%).

You Don’t Control The Outcomes Of Your Life, Principles Do.

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

John 14:27

There always have been and always will be two classes on the earth to the end of time–the believers in Jesus, and those who reject Him.

Sinners, however wicked, sinful, evil, abominable, and corrupt, by faith in Jesus Christ will be purified and made clean, through the doing of His word. and the blood of Jesus Christ which was shed on calvary.

Those who reject Christ and refuse to believe the truth will be filled with bitterness against those who accept Jesus as a personal Saviour. But those who receive Christ are melted and subdued by the manifestation of His love and His humiliation, suffering, and death in their behalf.

The peace that Jesus Christ gave to His disciples, and for which we pray, is the peace that is born of truth, a peace that is not to be quenched because of division. Without may be wars and fightings, jealousies, envies, hatred, strife; but the peace of Christ is not that which the world giveth or taketh away. It could endure amid the hunting of spies and the fiercest opposition of His enemies…. Christ did not for an instant seek to purchase peace by a betrayal of sacred trusts. Peace could not be made by a compromise of principles.

It is a grave mistake on the part of those who are children of God to seek to bridge the gulf that separates the children of light from the children of darkness by yielding principle, by compromising the truth. It would be surrendering the peace of Christ in order to make peace or fraternize with the world. The sacrifice is too costly to be made by the children of God to make peace with the world by giving up the principles of truth…. Then let the followers of Christ settle it in their minds that they will never compromise truth, never yield one iota of principle for the favor of the world. Let them hold to the peace of Christ.

Socialism is a religion

Neither did we eat any man’s bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:

The religion of Socialism depends upon and presupposes material achievements which Socialism itself can never create. Socialism is operative only in wealth situations brought about by modes of production other than its own. Socialism takes and redistributes wealth, but it is utterly incapable of creating wealth.

Under Socialism people are coercively relieved of their individual choices in order to sanction a single choice; the choice being mandated by whoever heads the socialistic regime. Authoritarianism is forcibly substituted for individual liberty. What we witness here is a diversionary process accomplished by police action; hence, the iron fist type of government.

Does any capable adult person “in need” really benefit by living on the confiscated income of others? Do handouts ever improve his character or his mental and physical faculties or his growth? Does anyone ever benefit by the removal of self-responsibility?

The something-for-nothing idea appears to flourish wherever there is a failure to grasp the purpose behind the struggle for existence. The fullest possible employment of one’s faculties is what makes for strength of body, of character, of spirit, of intellect. Non-use of faculties leads to atrophy.

Life’s problems are not without purpose. They aid us in the processes of self-development. They demand of the individual that he gather new strength to hurdle each new obstacle. The art of becoming is composed of acts of overcoming.

For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

MILLENNIALS ARE DITCHING RELIGION FOR WITCHCRAFT. HERE’S WHY

Millennials Are Ditching Religion for Witchcraft. Here’s Why

Disclaimer: I do not profess to teach or have any sort of authority over men. I share the Word of GOD and any matters about the world that directly applies to our lives and walk as Christians.

Gone are the days when people regarded witchcraft as evil and demonic. These days, it has become a path of spirituality that many millennials are choosing to take. The witch population doubled in 2018, and I daresay that not many of us were aware of it happening.

More than half of the young adults in America believe that astrology is a science, compared to less than 8% of the Chinese public. Sounds strange, doesn’t it? Astrology is an essential aspect of the average Chinese man or woman. They firmly believe that the time of a person’s birth is the main factor in determining that person’s personality, as opposed to the month you were born in for the Western astrology. Chinese astrology is the divination of the future from the Chinese calendar. Did you get that? Divination. Let’s continue. Wikipedia states that “astrology is the study of the movements and relative positions of celestial objects as a means of divining information about human affairs and terrestrial events.” Yes, I know, I used Wikipedia which is the last source of information that a person should turn to, but they are not wrong so in that I’m justified. Another website (which I very briefly looked through) describes astrology as “an ancient art” and that “understanding the patterns of the universe gives you the insight you need to navigate life.” So, my question is: how different is Chinese astrology to Western astrology? Both are claiming to tell the future based on when you were born. One may take the time of your birth and the other the month, but they clearly have the same roots. Which carries another question: why is astrology considered a science in America by more than half of the young adults and just 8% by the Chinese? Awfully strange if you ask me. It sounds like the Western world are trying to fool the public- what’s new?

Spirituality is increasing, while interest in religion is decreasing. According to a study from the Pew Research Center, it appears that the majority of the American population do not believe that it is necessary to believe in GOD to have good morals. In 2007, 81% of participants between the ages of 18 and 29 who “never doubt the existence of GOD” plummeted to 67% in 2012. It seems that many of them may have looked in the direction of psychic services such as astrology (shocker! Not.), aura reading, mediumship, tarot-card reading, and palmistry. This industry grew 2% between 2011 and 2016, although personally, I believe that it was much higher. The psychic service industry was worth a whopping $2 billion back in 2017, imagine what the IBIS World would report now in 2019?

Friends, people are turning to astrology and tarot card reading at an alarming rate. Several recent studies state that there might be more than 1.5 million witches in the U.S today, but I think that’s a lie. The number is far higher than that. I was watching a Youtube video the other day to see what this ‘sudden’ spike in witchcraft was all about. What do these witches actually do? Well, I do know already, it’s not rocket science or anything, but hearing it from the mouth of a witch was interesting (no, not really). A practising witch pulls tarot cards, they have crystals everywhere, they make shrines, they cast spells, they meditate, and apparently it all speaks to their radical feminism. A spell is supposedly a prayer to the universe, where they will have chalices full of water and candles lit up, something that represents the gods and goddesses and is just like how you pray in church (well, would you look at that!). Being a South African who is familiar with the witchcraft that happens in my own country (I literally live in an area where there are known witches and have been attacked by them), the witches that I know seem hardcore in comparison to the ones described in America. It’s funny how the media is trying to make it seem young, hip, and trendy to cover up what really goes on behind closed doors. There are the public witches (Wicca) who apparently practice ‘light’, good spells, mother earth nonsense etc., and the ones that meet in secret places, make sacrifices and call up all manner of devils, but it’s all the same really. Carrying on.

They say that the powerful are scared of this figure that has been traditionally powerless, but now that is not the case. They (the witches) draw on the sexual assault cases cropping up everywhere (that Weinstein guy, R Kelly, etc.), as well as the Me Too movement, saying that the only way to heal is by coming together in what they see is as a coven of witches. Confused? Well, I was. I didn’t think that there was much correlation between coming together for support and being a witch. But then they brought up feminism, and I thought ‘oh, I see where this is going.’ Witchcraft is making a comeback among US feminists because they believe that is it the only way to be powerful, to have power or take back power from the patriarchal society, and be in control of your own life. Being a witch in the modern world feels rebellious to these millennials, and it seems like a practical approach to spirituality (to them anyway).

One witch (I’m not putting names here) stated that she came from an Irish Catholic background and that there is a lot of Catholic folk magic and Catholic folk traditions that people are not aware of (who among you reading this still don’t know this?) which are witchcraft. Her grandmother and mother did things that they would never label as witchcraft, such as hanging a rosary on your door to keep evil away. One witches’ practice revolves around spirit contact and trance work (going into trances and communicating with spirits there). Witchcraft is also supposedly a method of decolonising oneself, your notions of morality, gender, religion and returning to a mindstate that was pre-Christian to become less prejudiced and ‘free’. Some wake up in the morning and pour a glass of water to their ancestors to honour them (hey, I know all about ancestral worship, it’s huge in Africa) and thank them for where they are right now. At the end of the day they will say thank you to the land, to the gods, spirits and animals of where they live, to the mighty dead, and the living people.

I’m going to take a breather here from all this witchy devilry and insert the Word. The following Scripture clearly tells us that everything that these people are doing are an abomination to GOD.

Deuteronomy 18:10-12: “There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. For all who do these things are an abomination to the LORD, and because of these abominations the LORD your GOD drives them out from before you.”

Go back a couple of years (us millennials) to when Harry Potter became the thing to read, The Hobbit took us to distant lands, and Narnia gave us a world unlike our own. Buffy the Vampire Slayer was a cool chick who kicked butt, Charmed was a magical TV series that most people followed religiously, and magical movies fulfilled our every need for fantasy. I will give my last dollar (or Rand which won’t mean much anywhere else) when I say that many of us were so into this world that we imagined ourselves as having powers, destroying the bad guy with them, being unique because of our abilities, and wishing that we could be those people that we were watching or reading. It was a heady thing for us, more potent than a Man whom we spoke about in Sunday School, once a week in school, and not much else. I don’t remember being taught of how powerful Jesus was and is, how He destroyed death by his own death on the cross, how He overcame the devil and gives authority to his people to defeat evil principalities and such, or how Him arising from the dead was a mighty working of GOD’S Spirit. Why weren’t we told that He is the Superhero, the only One that we need? Why was He not hyped up as much as our books, TV series and movies were? There is power in the Name of Jesus, people, more power than any silly made-up world and hero. Maybe some of you got to be taught this Jesus, but many of us were not. He was just this good, benign Man who walked this earth and died for our sins. We were told how He loves us in spite of our sin. This all true, don’t get me wrong, but He is more than that, so much more, and many millennials do not know this or understand it. They only know of the old rubbish taught by religious people who probably aren’t even Christians themselves but agents of the devil masquerading as Christians.

This is an epidemic, plain and simple. Many millennials are being lost to witchcraft. And while I focused on America (well, because it’s America), this can be said for other places in the world. Only, it may not be witchcraft as in Wicca, but other religions, Satanism, Buddhism etc. I am a millennial myself, born in the last year of the 80s and a firm 90s kid. I remember what we used to watch growing up, and it seemed harmless. That is the deceiving part of it, how harmless it all seemed. We all wanted to be powerful, to have control of our futures, and magic seemed like the way to do it, so we may have played around with it- horoscopes, fortune tellers, ‘as light as a feather, as heavy as a rock’, Ouija board etc, but some of us didn’t get out. I once told GOD that if I ever got married and had children, that I would tell them just how powerful He is and precisely what He did. How nothing on this earth compares to Him, and how much He loves them. I want them to see His magnificence, His untouchable glory, and His gift of salvation for us all. There is a way out of this world and its troubles, and that is to give your life to Jesus. And while you still may live in the world, it does not matter because He has provided us with everything that we need to overcome the evil of this world that is not just physical, but primarily spiritual. To GOD be the glory now, and forever more.

There is so much more that could be said about the truth behind the lives of those who practice witchcraft, but I have chosen to tackle what the media is portraying to us. This goes much deeper, and if the Holy Spirit wills it, I shall write another post.

Disclaimer: I do not profess to teach or have any sort of authority over men. I share the Word of GOD and any matters about the world that directly applies to our lives and walk as Christians.

Godinterest: A Return to the Web of Old, While Pushing the Internet Forward

Godinterest: A Return to the Web of Old, While Pushing the Internet Forward

The million-dollar question of the hour is: How does the future of Godinterest look beyond 2019? So, we hopped on the time machine, and we just came back from the future.

Now, it’s your turn to take the ride, so buckle up amigo, we’re hot in 3, 2, 1”¦

It’s 8am on a Thursday, early morning by cybre.space’s standards. Few have logged on to Godinterest’s microblogging social network, and it shows a follower feed filled with less than 50 users updates at a snail’s pace. It’s much slower than one would expect on a social network. But then again, cybre.space isn’t Godinterest. It runs off a CMS called WordPress, and is part of a much larger network of Godinterest MicroBlogs.

Have you ever blogged? How about microblogged? You might say no to the latter, but if you’ve ever posted something on social media, surprise! You’re a microblogger.

“Microblogging is an online broadcast medium that exists as a specific form of blogging. A microblog differs from a traditional blog in that its content is typically smaller in both actual and aggregated file size. Microblogs “allow users to exchange small elements of content such as short sentences, individual images, or video links”, which may be the major reason for their popularity. These small messages are sometimes called microposts.”

There’s no reason to think that Jesus wouldn’t have used Facebook, Google, Twitter if it existed back when he was on earth.

The fundamental problem of religious communication is how best to represent and mediate the sacred. (O’Leary 787) What would Jesus tweet?

Historically, the quest for sacred connections has relied on the mediation of faith communication via technological implements, from the use of the drum to mediate the Divine, to the use of the mechanical clock by monks as reminders to observe the canonical hours of prayer (Mumford). Today, religious communication practices increasingly implicate Web 2.0, or interactive, user-generated content like blogs and microblogs “like” status updates of no more than 500 characters sent via Web-based applications like Godinterest, text messaging, instant messaging, e-mail, or on the Web.

According to the Pew Internet and American Life Project’s latest report in October 2009, 19% of online adults said that they used a microblogging service to send messages from a computer or mobile device to family and friends who have signed up to receive them (Fox, Zickuhr & Smith).

The ascendency of microblogging leads to interesting questions of how new media use alters spatio-temporal dynamics in peoples’ everyday consciousness, including ways in which tweeting facilitates ambient religious interactions. The notion of ambient strikes a particularly resonant chord for religious communication: many faith traditions advocate the practice of sacred mindfulness, and a consistent piety in light of holy devotion to an omnipresent and omniscient Divine being.

Godinterest is a free social networking and micro-blogging service based on the WordPress software, using the Activity Streams and seeks to provide the potential for open, inter-service and distributed communications between its microblog and has grown steadily in the last couple of months, and with it the community. The platform enjoys an engaged pressence on the internet.

Godinterest Launches WordPress Blogging Portal For Students And Teachers of Religion

Over a week ago, using the fully hosted version of the popular open-source WordPress content management system, Dean Jones introduced a blog portal that focuses specifically on religion to help people share their faith online.

Jones, a 36-year-old ex-lecturer from London argues that Godinterest gives occasion to a whole new set of conversations about religion in public life and represents the possibility of a common conversation among a diverse set of voices. “

There is no doubt that WordPress is one of the most popular blogging platforms so when asked what’s special and about Godinterest, Jones stated the following points: “

– Only for Religion – Godinterest is targeted at those in Religion rather than general blogging. We envision blogs being used to facilitate discussion, replace paper newsletters, encourage students to blog, post videos podcasts and presentation and create class publications.

– Accounts – Godinterest offers a range of accounts not limited to an individual. The basic version is a free account which gives you features comparable to WordPress but without some of the themes and Adverts (a nice incentive to an educator) after that there will be pro accounts which opens up more options like the ability to set up, and monitor, blogs for students, custom domains and visitor stats. Godinterest will also offer free upgrades for students when attached to a Pro blog.

– Privacy – students might be more conscious about their work than your average blogger. The built in privacy features (including password protection) are a great way to help students to build up their confidence.

Modules – We also plan to implement modules in Scripture, Worship (including Sacraments), Church History and Beliefs on Theology Challenges and provide a variety of resources to help teachers and students explore many aspects of religious knowledge. “

The future of education is with online technology and there are fewer and better things to be innovating on than just that right now, Godinterest offers that opportunity for any religious educator or faith blogger with specific themes and features that will make learning even more effective.

Young Christian bloggers

Young Christian bloggers

Some of the web’s most influential voices now belong to bloggers as young as 13.

“Kids often start writing blogs just for the hell of it,” says Sadie Stein, a contributing editor at the US online feminist fashion mag, Jezebel. “Sometimes it’s because they are feeling isolated in small conservative towns and want to connect with other kids; sometimes it’s because they have areas of specialised interest they want to share.”

We think it’s about time to make this official: 2018 is the year of the young‘uns.

We’ve invited children and young people to write for us on a regular basis. Their blogs can be about anything– popular culture, rights in their life, or the issues they care about in the world. We hope their work will mean more young people visit our website, so that they can learn more about the things that matter to them.

Godinterest is built with WordPress a software designed for everyone, emphasizing accessibility, performance, security, and ease of use. The basic WordPress software is simple and predictable so you can easily get started. It also offers powerful features for growth and success.

We believe in democratizing publishing and the freedoms that come with open source.

Teenage Pregnancy

Pregnancy

Well pregnancy is not a sin. Teenage pregnancy is also not a sin. In fact, Mary, the most revered woman in the church, was pregnant as a teen.

The Church cares a lot more about why a teen is pregnant. Regardless of why though, the Church recognizes the life of the child in the womb and advocates against abortion. The life of the infant can also be seen in the case of Mary when she visits her cousin Elizabeth and John leaps in Elizabeth’s womb at the presense of zygote Jesus.

Here are some reasons that the Church finds to be acceptable for being pregnant as a teen:

  1. You didn’t have sex, but instead God told you that you’ll have a child, and that child is the Son of God. Unsurprisingly, this one is a little rare.
  2. You are already married (young marriages can be a thing, they’re just not common in our culture)
  3. You got raped. Rape is one of the most horrifying crimes that a person can commit against another. But if a woman is pregnant because she was raped, then she is not at any fault. Of course, society has the unfortunate masogynistic tendency to disagree, even within the Church.

There is only one unacceptable reason, but this is the most common today:

  1. You had consensual sex outside of marriage. If this is the case the Church strongly desires that both the father and the mother go to Confession and work to amend their lives to be lives of virtue. Two requirements of that new life of virtue include a renewed committment to chastity and a committment to care for the child to the best of their ability.

Regardless of the circumstances of the child’s conception, the Church urges all involved to acknowledge the child that is coming into the world as a gift from God and not as a problem. True, there may be some difficulties associated with his or her entrance into the world, but ultimately it is good. Pregnancy is a beautiful thing, and it’s one thing that is uniquely exclusive to women. Pregnancy doesn’t always happen in the best of circumstances, and can be a product of sin, but is in and of itself a beautiful thing which should be met with joy and not condemnation.

A Change Is Gonna Come: Give Me That Old-Time Religion 15 Essential Gospel Hymns

Worship is in an extremely important component of the Christian life. As Christians, our whole lives should be a living sacrifice of worship to God, but undoubtedly, praise and thanksgiving through song play a big role (just look at Psalms). With the rise of Christian Contemporary Music (CCM) in the last 50 years or so, the previous popular choice for corporate worship time, hymns, have become less prominent in some circles.

The best Southern gospel songs are among the most beloved and enduring tunes in all of gospel music. You don’t have to be religious to be affected by the power of gospel music. After all, it influenced soul and R&B music – along with rock’n’roll legends the likes of Elvis Presley and The Rolling Stones – and even Bob Dylan tried his hand at writing bona fide gospel songs.

What we need in the churches is the Holy Ghost and fire. We need what the old time saints had. That old time religion.   More than anything else they had a dedication to God. When they prayed you knew that God was there.

There have been times that I thought I couldn’t last for long
But now I think I’m able to carry on
It’s been a long, a long time coming
But I know a change is gonna come, oh yes it will
