Often we don't feel happy and don't feel like trying to find out why. We suspect the reasons already anyway. I've read that happiness is a choice. It made no sense to me for a long time. Then I began to learn that if I say, "I choose to be happy today, or this moment. I choose happiness," then it will come to me if I keep choosing to have it.

Even when I don't feel it, or feel like saying it, if I be faithful in saying that, it will happen. So when I take "deliberate pursuit" of it, I don't have to find a way to make it happen. I don't have to organize and plan it, or orchestrate it at all. I don't have to bow down to never or rarely feeling it. All I need to do is claim it with my thoughts and let it come out of my mouth. The Bible tells us that this is our right in Christ Jesus!

The world teaches something like it, and those who do not know God can obtain a form of it, but it is without eternal significance. When we do it through God and his Holy Word, it also stores up riches in Heaven for us. It has eternal and everlasting significance. Praise Him!
