  1. To put credence to “knock on wood” when something uncertain in our future comes up, is to decrease credence in God’s ability to bring about good outcomes. The same holds true for all sorts of semi-religious OCD behavior. Is it all right to do those things, hiding behind the “all things are permissible” half sentence? Let’s ask it another way. Did Jesus do that, or did He look at the situation and decide how was the better way to glorify God in all He did? Shouldn’t we do likewise if we claim to be His disciples?
