Did you know that your life moves in the direction of your mind? So many people today are not really enjoying their lives because of the condition of their minds. They constantly dwell on negative, destructive, harmful thoughts. They don’t realise it, but the root cause of many of their problems is simply the fact that their thought life is out of control.
Yes, our lives follow our thoughts. If you think negative thoughts, then you’re going to live a negative life. If you think discouraging, hopeless thoughts, or even mediocre thoughts, then your life is going to go down that exact same path. That’s why Scripture says, we have to take captive every thought and renew our minds on a daily basis.
Today, I want to challenge you to think about what you’re thinking about. Don’t let self-defeating thoughts linger in your mind. Instead, speak God’s promises over your life. Declare what He says about you and renew your mind daily through God’s great and awesome promises!
“We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” (2 Corinthians 10:5)
Let’s Pray
Yahweh, help me take captive every thought. Father, I want you to renew my mind according to Your Word. Dear Holy Spirit, please be my teacher and helper, I invite You to direct me in the way that I should go. In Christ’s Name! Amen.
Matthew 25 tells a parable about three men whose employer entrusted them with some money. Two of the men were diligent and invested the money and received a great return. The third man was afraid and buried his money. The first two men were rewarded and praised for their investment and diligence, while the third man was rebuked because he did nothing.
God longs to show you His goodness and provision. He promises to always do His part, but you have to do your part. You have to be diligent. Be diligent in seeking His ways and following His Word. Be diligent with your time and resources. Follow the example of the first two men and look for ways to be diligent with what you have in your hand.
Today, whatever you do, do it with excellence. Be the best you can be, and go the extra mile even when you think it goes unnoticed. Understand that when people don’t notice, God notices and will reward the appetite of the diligent.
“…the appetite of the diligent is abundantly supplied.” (Proverbs 13:4)
Let’s Pray
Yahweh, thank You for Your favour on my life. Father, I choose to be diligent in all things. I choose to live in excellence and do everything to the best of my God-given ability. God, I will give You all the glory, in Christ’s Name! Amen.
If you’ve done things wrong (and we all have), the forgiveness that comes from God through the blood of Jesus can lift the guilt and shame, and take the weight from your shoulders. The key to God’s forgiveness is knowing and accepting that Christ gave His life to pay the price for the things you’ve done wrong. There is no sin that God cannot forgive. God’s forgiveness is made complete by asking Christ into your life and surrendering your life to Him. Remember your sin doesn’t take away your purpose or calling.
Today, God is speaking to your heart and drawing you to Himself. He doesn’t want you to perish. God wants to give you life. He wants you to pass from death to life. He wants to take you out of Satan’s Kingdom of darkness and bring you into God’s Kingdom. The way He does that is by saying to you, ‘your sins are forgiven.’ Can you imagine what it’s like to have all your sins forgiven? To have the load taken off of your back and to be set free? Accept it today and experience God’s freedom.
Gods Promises Claim them today; So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed” (John 8:36) Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:13)
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)
Let’s Pray Yahweh, I believe that You are the Son of God. I believe that You are the only Saviour promised to me who will give me eternal life. God, I want to be set free from my sin. I don’t want to be a slave to sin any longer. Take away my guilt and shame today, cover me with Your blood, break the devil’s hold on me and remove the curse. Give me the faith to believe it is done. Christ, I receive You as my Lord and Saviour. I want to be Your child, in Christ’s Name! Amen.
Are you tired of sorrow and sadness? I have good news for you; get to Heaven! There will be no sorrow and sadness. In the final book of the Bible, Heaven is described as a place of wonderful freedom from pain, sorrow and suffering. Joyful moments here are just that—moments. They seem to end quickly. In Heaven, joy is eternal. Hallelujah! Your best memories are those that are timeless, that seem to live on in your mind and in your heart forever. They seem so crystal clear and so crisp. That’s because the joy that surrounds those moments is of the Lord.
Scripture tells us that joy is a fruit of the Spirit, and the Spirit is eternal. So when you experience His joy, it is eternal. It becomes timeless. Joy-filled moments down here on Earth are like sneak previews to whet your appetite for Heaven. I think that’s God’s way of getting your heart, every once in a while, out of the mess of Earth and onto the solid, real ground of Heaven.
Today, rest assured there won’t be any violence or death in Heaven. We won’t have to worry about nation against nation, or if a bomb is going to be dropped. We don’t have to worry about the atmosphere or pandemics killing us, because our bodies are going to be glorified and we are going to be eternally happy. We’re going to smile. We won’t have any more tears. I’m so looking forward to being with my family members and my friends in Heaven. Will you be there?
“You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand” (Psalm 16:11)
Let’s Pray Yahweh, thank You for the joy of Heaven, so that my joy will be full as I live in Your presence now and forever. Father, I’m so glad that the pain and emptiness of this world will not exist in Heaven and I will be totally free, hallelujah! Thank You! In Christ’s Name, Amen.
At a time when many people around the world are struggling because of job losses, very little money, an increase of homelessness and an uncertain future, people are looking for peace and increase. Do you need more peace, joy, and provision in your life? We serve a God who is called the All-Sufficient One, and He has more than enough for you!
Our verse below in the Hebrew uses the word El-Shaddai, which means “the All-Sufficient One.” In other words, our God is more and has more! He’s not worried about how He’s going to meet your needs. He’s not wondering how He’s going to provide for you. He’s already overflowing with everything you need in this life, and He will bless you. Do you know why? So that you can turn around and be a blessing to others and brag about His goodness and love. He wants you to be His reflection in all the earth.
Today, keep an attitude of faith and expectancy. Remember, you serve the Almighty God. He promises to supply all your needs because He is El-Shaddai, your All Sufficient One, the God of more than enough! Hallelujah!
…the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, ‘I am Almighty God…” (Genesis 17:1)
Let’s Pray
Yahweh, thank You for being my El-Shaddai, my All-Sufficient One. Father, today I receive Your promises found in Your Word, and choose to have an attitude of faith and expectancy. I declare and receive more than enough in my life. God, thank You for Your goodness and faithfulness to me. In Christ’s Name! Amen.
If there were no limitations on your life – if anything were possible, what would you be imagining for you life? When was the last time you imagined God doing something supernatural in your life? Is there a relationship that needs restoration? Is there a business you’ve wanted to start but you are holding back? It’s time to get rid of your limited imagination and focus on God’s promises.
Do you know the only limits on your life are the limits you place in your mind, and God wants to do exceedingly more than you can even imagine! He wants to overwhelm you with His goodness and amaze you with His faithfulness. But in order for Him to exceed what you’ve imagined, you have to at least start imagining!
Today, why don’t you take a step of faith and let your spiritual imagination run wild? Begin to see in your mind’s eye all the possibilities for your present and future. Meditate on the amazing things God has done throughout history. Let that seed of faith take root in your heart. Hold on to His promises because He is faithful and able to exceed your expectations and go beyond what you can imagine today!
“For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God’s except the Spirit of God.” (1 Corinthians 2:11)
Let’s Pray
Yahweh, thank You for Your goodness and faithfulness in my life. Father, I submit my imagination to You. Help me to see what You see for my future. God, help me to take the limits off my thinking so that I can receive everything You have in store for me. In Christ’s Name, Amen.
What are you waiting on God for? Is your breakthrough taking too long? Have you been praying for a loved one, or maybe you believed that a situation would change for years? Don’t get discouraged. God is going to finish what He started! He is faithful, and He has something unmatched, unparalleled coming your way, breakthroughs, restoration like you haven’t seen before, hallelujah!
I believe we’re coming into a time of greater anointing, greater power and greater victories! The key is to stay in agreement with God. We should get up every morning and say, “Father, thank You for Your unprecedented favour. Thank You for the immeasurable, unlimited, surpassing greatness of Your power.” If you keep standing in faith, I believe you’re going to come into more of those days where you stand in utter amazement and say, “wow, God! I’ve never seen anything like this before!”
Today, remember the question that Scripture asks, “is there anything too hard for the Lord?” and the answer is “no”, nothing is impossible when we put our faith and trust in Him. So, keep standing, keep believing and keep hoping, because God has something astounding in store for your future. He will finish what He started!
“Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 1:6)
Let’s Pray
Yahweh, today I give my heart and my mind to You, so You can finish what You started in me. Father, I trust and believe that You are working on my behalf. God, I will stand strong on Your promises today, knowing that victory is mine, in Christ’s Name! Amen.
What is your priority today? Where is you focus? Do you have so much on your “to-do” list that you don’t even know where to start? The question is, is all of that really necessary?
The Scripture tells us there is only one priority needed in life, and that is to sit at the feet of Jesus. When we sit in His presence, we get to know Him. We hear His voice and He shows us the way that we should go. When we don’t take time for God, that’s when the enemy steps in and we feel the cares and worries of the world.
Today, take a moment to review all that is priority in your life. Evaluate how you are spending your time. Tune out unnecessary distractions and tune in to God’s voice. Make time for Him every single day, because that is the one thing that is needed to overcoming the enemy, worry and this negative world!
“…You are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed — or indeed only one…” (Luke 10:41–42)
Let’s Pray
Yahweh, today I choose to make You priority in my life and set my heart and mind on You. Father, I choose to cast my cares and focus on what’s most important, talking to You, hearing Your voice and being in Your presence, so I can follow Your Word, Your will and Your ways! In Christ’s Name, Amen.
With death, domestic violence, sibling rivalry and race issues etc on the increase, there will be more and more bitterness, and long term unforgiveness and resentment in our society. Bitterness is an extremely destructive force. It can seep into the depths of your heart if you choose not to forgive someone.
Scripture tells us that if we choose not to forgive others, it will even hinder our prayers. Thank God that He has empowered us with the power to forgive and release bitterness! It all begins with a choice. You may have been through unfair situations, but it’s not over until God says it’s over. God always has the final say. He is a God of justice, even today during these hard times. He sees every wrong that’s ever been done to you, and every unfair situation, and He will make it right. Trust Him!
Today, If you will stay in faith and choose to forgive, God will make your wrongs right. He’ll bring justice into your life. Your attitude should be, “it may have been unfair. They may have done me wrong, but I refuse to get bitter. I know my time is coming.” Choose forgiveness, honour God and walk in complete freedom in every area of your life!
“Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.” (Ephesians 4:31)
Pray With Me
Yahweh, today I refuse bitterness. I refuse to allow the past or present to keep me stuck. Father, take away my negative feelings towards others. Please help me right now to forgive those who have hurt me. God, I pray blessings on them, that they would come to know Your truth and their lives will be changed. In faith I thank You for setting my heart free, in Jesus’ Name! Amen.
As I took a long hard look at my life, I realised that in order for me to get to the next level in my life and move into the next chapter, I have to get rid of the old. Are you ready for a new chapter in your life? In order to move forward into the blessings God has for you, you have to be willing to let go of the old. The things that are behind you are not nearly as important today as what is out in front of you. It’s time to get ready for the “new”!
Some unfair things happen, things that you don’t understand. But let me tell you, you have come too far to stop now, despite what others may say and what you think. Instead of allowing those things to hold you back, why don’t you let go and take a step of faith into the new? It’s time to get a new, bigger vision; it’s time to get a new, fresher outlook; it’s time to rise up with a new attitude!
Today, instead of settling where you are, pick up and move forward, no matter what has been said about you. Have the attitude that says, “I may not understand it; it may not have been fair, but I am not getting stuck on this page of my life. I know God has a new chapter for me – a chapter filled with blessings, favour and victory!
“And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the new wine will burst the skins and it will be spilled, and the skins will be destroyed.” (Luke 5:37)
Let’s Pray
Yahweh, thank You for Your faithfulness in my life. Father, today, I will trust You with my past, present and future. God, give me wisdom to discern the seasons of my life. Teach me to embrace the new things You have in store for me. Cover me from my enemies and the devil who will seek to bring me back into the old, in Christ’s Name! Amen.
I don’t like Bumblebees. I want to kill them as soon as I see them, simply because they hurt people. But did you know, that according to all the laws of aerodynamics, a bumblebee should not be able to fly? Its wingspan is too small for the size of its body, it shouldn’t get enough lift. But here’s the key: nobody told the bumblebee. It didn’t get the email. No experts were able to talk it out of flying. The bumblebee felt its wings on its sides and something in its brain said, “I’m supposed to fly, I’m not made to just crawl around on the ground”. It didn’t read the latest engineering report, it just did what was natural and started flapping its wings and took off flying.
Have you ever had the experts tell you, “You’ll never get well; you’ll never get out of debt; you’ll never get educated; this is as good as it gets”? With all due respect, experts can be wrong at times. The experts told Mrs. Patrick that she would never have children. Yet today she has 4 children, 18 grandchildren and 10 great grand children. The experts told me that because of my past sins and addictions, I will never be a successful minister. Praise God, I’m doing pretty good in Jesus name! Each day through my devotional blog, school, radio and other ministries, over 10,000 people are being blessed. Hallelujah!
Today, there will be times you have to believe God over the experts and even human logic and watch what He will do on your behalf! You will be able to fly, have a good job, own your business, be educated, own your home, have children and develop ministries that will bless others. Don’t settle for less than God has in store for you.
“But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty.” (1 Corinthians 1:27)
Let’s Pray
Yahweh, thank You for Your goodness and faithfulness in my life. Today, I cast aside logic and apply faith in You. I believe You over what the “experts” tell me and what humans want me to believe. I believe that You are faithful and expect to see Your goodness all the days of my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Israel Houghton has a song called Alpha and Omega. The titles “Alpha” and “Omega” represent the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet, symbolising that God is the beginning and the end of all things. He is not confined by the limitations of time and space. He existed before anything was made and will continue to exist eternally. In Him, the mysteries of the past, present, and future find their meaning.
Today’s verse reassures us of God’s unchanging and everlasting nature. In a world of constant change and uncertainty, the permanence of God’s presence provides a foundation of stability and hope. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever – the Almighty who governs the universe with unassailable power and authority.
Today, as you meditate on this scripture, it should fill you with awe and comfort. Whether facing life’s challenges or celebrating its joys, remember that you are in the hands of the Alpha and Omega. His eternal nature assures us that He is always in control, guiding history and our lives towards His ultimate purpose. In every situation, we can trust the One who is, who was, and who is to come.
I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.” (Revelation 1:8)
Let’s Pray
Yahweh, I have a sure hope in Your promise for my future. Father, because You are Alpha and Omega, outside of time, I can rest in Your blessed assurance because I trust in You alone for my salvation. As a sinner saved by Your gracious gift, You alone are my righteousness. No matter what happens, in this world, in my life, and in the lives of my loved ones, You are the great I AM. You are the end from the beginning. All things are in Your powerful hand and I can trust You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Have you ever asked these questions? “I’ve been a Christian nearly my whole life, but I’m constantly disappointed in myself. Why is it that I always seem to keep doing the things I wish I didn’t do, and never seem to do the things I know I should do? Isn’t God getting tired of me?”
That’s a common struggle that even the apostle Paul experienced in Romans. I believe many who ask these questions are caught in the discouragement trap. But here’s some good news: we don’t have to stay in that trap of discouragement. To paraphrase Paul as he writes in Romans 8, the key is to stop focusing on the law and start focusing on Jesus. Hallelujah!
Today remember, the law, or man, can’t do anything about our sinfulness. The answer is not to try harder to be good at keeping rules – that’s the beginning of the discouragement trap. Focusing on the law alone will constantly remind us that we’ll never be good enough or deserve God’s grace. Instead, we must focus on the One who shows us mercy and loves us regardless, and cooperate with the Spirit who changes us. Then we will trade discouragement for encouragement and receive the freedom that God brings.
I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. (Romans 7:15)
Let’s Pray
Yahweh, I sometimes get caught in the cycle of trying too hard to be good, failing, getting discouraged, and giving up. Father, help me to depend on Your grace and to draw near to You, so that You can change my heart. God, I’m so sorry for putting the law above Your love which has allowed me to live by works and not Your grace. I choose to focus on Christ, and trade my discouragement for encouragement. In His Name I pray! Amen.
In the Lord’s prayer (Luke 11:1-4), Jesus begins his prayer with, “Our father who art in heaven.” That first word reminds us that we are not alone, that we are linked through God to one another as one family, and He is daddy. As we come close to God, we are drawn into a closer relationship with one another. By telling us to call God “father,” Jesus moves us from images of a remote God to an image of God as one who is with us constantly, who cares about us always, who daily provides for us like a good father should. I was always told, “you look like your dad, you walk like your dad and you act like him. This should be what folk say about us and our heavenly father. One whose likeness we bear at the deepest levels of our being.
Today, we ought to respect God’s title as father, “Holy is His Name,” we must acknowledge God’s holiness. This may seem a contradiction to acknowledge that we are family and then immediately to acknowledge God’s holiness (in contrast to our lack of it). But “Holy is His Name” reminds us that one of the basic postures of prayer is awe. This is the essence of prayer: being with God as we are and He accepting us as child no matter what we’ve done, and we accepting God as God is. This encounter changes us, bit by bit, and allows us to experience freedom, confidence and self-worth.
So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into His glorious image. (2 Corinthians 3:18)
Let’s Pray Yahweh, thank You for being my father. Thank You for Your acceptance of me as Your sinful child and not turning Your back on me. I respect and love You today and always. You are awesome, in Christ’s Name! Amen.
Raised in a broken home; his parents split when he was aged 7; he felt abandoned by his dad. He attended one of the worst schools in London, one that was full of violence, drugs and other crimes. It was later closed down. He experimented with cigarettes, weed, alcohol and pornography; he struggled with sexual sin, leading to fornication and adultery, which led to relationship break-ups. He was arrested for embezzlement and had his first bout with jail. Misdemeanour crimes, leading to another bout with jail. He was homeless, sleeping on floors, in his car, with no money or food…
As I look back over my life, all of the above led to, and still leads to, difficult times of depression, loneliness, self-blame and ongoing sin. Sometimes it becomes hard to minister thinking of all the hurt I have caused myself, others and God.
Just recently, after reading the daily lesson and powerful books by Joyce Meyers and Beth Moore, I realised that all of my sins and hardships have served as preparation for ministry and service. This could be the bio of Abraham, David, Solomon, Paul, Peter and many more. Today, I think that these shortfalls and sins (some of which still haunt me till this day) are my real CV for ministry. Not my BA in Religion and my certifications in substance abuse counselling, but in my weakness God has become strong, and out of that strength God has given me a testimony that has helped thousands of people around the world. Hallelujah!!
If you are going through a storm, my word to you is to hold on, don’t give up. If God brought me through, He will bring you through. The Word of God says He will never leave you and in your weakness, He is made strong. Even though you may have caused your own pain, Isaiah 61:4-8 says God will use it for ministry, and make your ministry achieve double.
Today, if you are feeling broken there’s only one way to be filled. Stay under the tap of the Holy Ghost! The moment you leave the tap you will not be filled with His power. God wants to fill you all day, every day. You are not bad, you are weak, and God still can, and will, use you, because it shows that He is bigger than your trial and stronger than the devil and man. It’s time to rise above the opinions of man and turn your eyes upon Jesus.
The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favour and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion… (Isaiah 61:1-3)
Let’s Pray
Yahweh, I thank You for loving me, after knowing what I’ve done and what I will do. I thank You for my friends that will receive freedom from these words. Father, I don’t want to keep on hurting and being hurt. Help me to hate my sins and to daily wash in Your blood. God, thank You for not leaving me when everybody else thought I was too filthy. Help those who don’t understand how You can still use broken, stained and sinful people. You are awesome. Thank You. I LOVE YOU! Amen.
You may feel right now, like the challenges you face are too big or too overwhelming. We all face challenges. We all have obstacles to overcome. Keep the right attitude and focus, it will help us stay in faith so that we can move forward into victory.
I’ve learned that average people have average problems. Ordinary people have ordinary challenges. But remember, you’re above average and you’re not ordinary. You are extraordinary. God created you and breathed His life into you. You are exceptional, and exceptional people face exceptional difficulties. But the good news is that we serve a super exceptional God!
Today, when you have an incredible problem, instead of being discouraged, you should be encouraged knowing that you’re an incredible person, with an incredible future. Your path is shining bright because of your incredible God! Be encouraged today because your life is on an incredible path. So, keep in faith, keep declaring victory, keep declaring God’s promises over your life because you have an incredible future!
“The path of the [uncompromisingly] just and righteous is like the light of dawn, that shines more and more (brighter and clearer) until [it reaches its full strength and glory in] the perfect day…” (Proverbs 4:18)
Let’s Pray
Yahweh, today I lift my eyes to You. Father, I know that You are the One who helps me and has given me an incredible future. God, I choose to stand in faith, knowing that You have an incredible plan in store for me. In Christ’s Name! Amen.
