Move Past Your Disappointments And Setbacks

A mountain is a large unmovable mass. People climb them or go around them, many camp at its base, or live in its caves to be shielded from the elements. Do you go out each day knowing that favour is already in your future? Or, have you gotten stuck in a rut staring at a mountain of disappointment, a mass of setbacks or unmovable difficulties?

That’s what happened to the children of Israel in the Bible. They were headed toward their God-given promised land. They had big goals and big dreams, but along the way, they hit some setbacks and had some disappointments. They got so discouraged that they gave up on their dreams and just settled where they were. One day God said to them, “you have dwelt long enough in this unproductive stale mountain.” He was saying, “It’s time to move past your disappointments and embrace the blessings in your future.” Hallelujah!

Today, I believe God is saying to each one of us, “you’ve been where you are long enough.” Looking at your broken dreams, negative issues and problems. God is saying, “this is a new day. Time to get your fire back. Where you are now is not where you’re supposed to be, you’ve stayed in that emotional, negative setback way to long.” If you’ll be determined to move past your mountain through prayer and biblical positivity, He will lead you and empower you to live in favour and blessing in every area of your life!

“…you have stayed long enough at this mountain.” (Deuteronomy 1:6, NIV)

Let’s PrayYahweh, today I give to You every area of my heart. Father, I give You my broken dreams, my setbacks, my disappointments, my doubts and my fears. God, I have decided to trade in my sorrow for Your joy. Today I will press past my mountains, so I can embrace the amazing promises and enormous, gigantic blessings You have in store for me, in Christ’s Name! Amen.

God Is Preparing You For Victory

Looking back over my short life I have concluded, there are times in life when we all face situations that seem impossible, difficult and hard. It’s easy to get discouraged and think that things won’t ever work out. But the Scripture tells us that God goes before us and makes our crooked places straight. In other words, even though you may not have the connections you need right now, you don’t have to worry. God is going before you arranging positive breaks, and creating life changing opportunities. He is preparing the way for your victory!

If you are facing difficulties, don’t fall into the temptation to get negative and sour. That adversity is no surprise to God. He’s not up in the heavens scratching His head and thinking, “Oh, no. Now what am I going to do?” No, He already knows every day of your life.

Today, I want to remind you that before you had that problem, God already had the solution. He is going before you right now preparing the next chapter of your life. So your focus must be on God and not on the problem. I encourage you to stay in faith and keep the right positive attitude, because He is moving you forward, despite what you see, into the victory He has prepared for you! Hallelujah!

“Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ…” (2 Corinthians 2:14, NKJV)

Let’s Pray

Yahweh, I love You and thank You for ordering and directing my steps throughout my life. Father, thank You for working behind the scenes on my behalf, moving me forward into the new chapter You have for my life. God, I choose today to trust in You, knowing that You are moral, magnificent and meticulous, and You will always lead me into victory, in Christ’s Name! Amen.

I Declare A Quicker Season

Do you know that as a faithful believer in Christ, you have an enormous advantage? The Creator of the universe is not only fighting your battles, but He is lining up the right people, the right breaks, and the right opportunities to move you forward.

Right now you may be facing a situation that looks like it’s never going to turn around, but I believe, based upon today’s verse, that you’re going to see some changes come quicker than you think. You’re going to come out of debt quicker than you think. You’re going to accomplish your goals much quicker than you think. That relationship is going to be restored quicker than you think! Hallelujah!

Today’s scripture reminds us that God is not slow in keeping His promise. I honestly believe we are entering a period where we are going to see the hand of God move like never before. He is going to open up doors that no man can shut. He is going to turn impossible situations around and make them possible. He’ll take you places that you never dreamed. It’s time to get ready for more of God’s favour, because that breakthrough is going to happen quicker than you think! Hallelujah I receive it in Jesus’ Name!

“The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise…” (2 Peter 3:9, NIV)

Let’s Pray

Yahweh, thank You for being faithful to Your Word. I trust that You will complete the work You’ve begun in me, sooner rather than later. Father, Your Word says You are not slow in keeping Your promises. I beg You to move quickly in my life today.  God, help me keep my heart and mind focused on You, as I stand strong in faith to see Your promises come to pass in my life, beginning today, in Jesus’ Name! Amen.

Nothing Should Stop Unity

With social distancing and mask wearing, it seems very hard to show love and unity to others. Do you find that you are surrounded by people all the time, yet you still feel disconnected? In your family, is everyone going in different directions, always busy, always doing their own thing? Nowadays I’ve found that we really have to make a conscious effort to walk and live in unity with the people in our lives, and not allow distractions of social distance, masks, lockdown or busyness to pull us apart.

Walking in a spirit of unity goes beyond distance or just getting along, it’s about going the extra mile to support one another and lift each other up. If you want to get the most out of life, you’ve got to draw a line in the sand and say, “I’m going to slow down and connect with the people I love. I’m not going to take my relationships for granted.”

Today, call a friend or family member that you haven’t talked to in a while. Reach out to them and let them know they are important to you despite lockdown and other distractions. Where possible, make time to have dinner, chat on zoom, and support each other’s activities. When you walk and live in unity, you bless the Lord and open the door for Him to pour out His abundance in your own life in return!

“May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had.”

(Romans 15:5, NIV)

Let’s Pray

Yahweh, thank You for the relationships You’ve placed in my life. Father, amidst lockdown, social distancing and facial covering, help me find creative ways to connect with the people I love. Please God, show me how to be supportive and encouraging, and help me to walk and live in a spirit of unity as You commanded, in Christ’s Name! Amen.

Forgiveness – A Powerful Gift

How Forgiveness Can Make You Love Again

What’s going on?

Last night I attended a powerful men’s ministry meeting on forgiveness. Forgiveness is such a powerful gift from heaven. It’s like a door on our heart. When we choose to forgive, it opens our heart so that we can receive everything God has in store for us. But when we hold onto unforgiveness, bitterness and resentment, it closes up our heart, and keeps us from moving forward physically, but mainly spiritually.

What does God say?

“…whoever has been forgiven little loves little.” (Luke 7:47, NIV). The Scripture also tells us that, “if we don’t forgive others, God cannot forgive us” (Matthew 6:15). That’s because the door on our heart is closed. If forgiveness doesn’t go out, forgiveness can’t come in. But when we choose to forgive, we open our heart so we can receive His forgiveness, and allow His love to flow freely through us. Forgiveness increases our capacity to receive! Hallelujah!

What do I do now?

Today remember, people will let you down, they will hurt you and disappoint you. Don’t let the actions of others block your relationship with the Father by holding unforgiveness. Instead, choose to forgive, so that you can increase your capacity to receive every blessing and favour God has in store for you!

Let’s Pray

Yahweh, thank You for forgiving me and setting me free from the sins of unforgiveness, bitterness and resentment. Father, today I have decided to forgive others, which will make room in my heart to receive Your forgiveness and love. Almighty God, thank You for accepting me with my sins and setting me free, in Christ’s Name! Amen.

Secret Unanswered Questions

When God called me into ministry I had no idea how hard life would be in the natural. Serving God means we’re going to have some unanswered questions. You may never understand why a relationship ended sooner than you would have liked. You may never understand why you lost a loved one. You may never understand why you went through something difficult, or why your prayers didn’t get answered the way you wanted.

At some point, you have to decide to put your questions aside and go on with God in faith. We have to decide to trust His character, even when our circumstances don’t make sense. The Bible tells us that adversity will come, but God is the one who promises to lead us into victory. Hallelujah!

Today, in Scripture, God says trust me with the secret things. He has promised that He’s going to turn your difficulty around and use it for your advantage. He is faithful to His Word, and you can be sure that He will fulfil every promise He’s made to you.

“The secret things belong unto the Lord our God…” (Deuteronomy 29:29, AMP)

Pray With Me

Yahweh, I have decided to trust You with my unanswered questions and difficulties. Father, I release any doubt and confusion in my life over to You. God, help me to focus on Your Word which is truth that sets me free from my secret struggles. Lord, thank You for Your goodness, and for the blessings. You are an amazing God and I love You, in Christ’s Name! Amen.

Are You Too Busy For God?

As we ease out of lockdown, life is about to get busy again. Many will be back at work, traffic will be heavy, and life will be full again. As well as essential busyness we want to be entertained, 500 or more TV channels, an unlimited number of sites to browse online, constant use of cell phones to keep us connected 24 hours a day.

Everywhere you look there is something to do, some kind of entertainment or communication all the time. If we’re not careful, we’ll fall into the same trap as Martha in the Bible of always being busy doing something. But, Jesus invites us to be still, because really only one thing is needed. To spend time with Him!

Today, I’m reminded of what our elderly use to say “what if we treated our Bibles like we do our mobile phones?” Can you imagine people in the lifts, lobbies and shopping malls thumbing through their Bibles all day long? Can you see people reading and studying the Word while sitting in traffic or at red lights? Not that you should do that, but the point is that we need to live our lives in balance, and make God’s Word a priority. Make sure You don’t allow the distractions of life to keep You from the one thing Jesus said is needed.

“But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.” (Luke 10:42, NKJV

Pray With Me

Yahweh, today I set my heart and affections on You. Father, I really want to lay down the distractions in my life and put You first, because You are the one thing that is needed. Please show me how. God, help me keep my mind focused on You which is the one thing You require, so I can declare Your praises and worship You throughout the day, in Christ’s Name! Amen.

Is Your Faith Dead Or Alive?

Cultivating Fresh Faith Through Your Lifetime

If ever there was a time we need more faith than fear, it’s now. What type of faith do you have? Did you know that your faith can be alive or dead? Dead faith doesn’t do anything but talk and remain stagnant. There are a lot of people who love God, but they aren’t overcoming obstacles or accomplishing their God-given dreams, and are spend time worrying and fearful, simply because they are not putting any action or belief behind their faith. Their faith is simply dead.

With that in mind what can you do today to make your faith alive and not dead? It doesn’t have to be anything big. By simply believing, standing and obeying God’s Word, putting it to the test, doing your best and allowing it to motivate and move you upward and forward, then your faith is alive. When you go to work every day despite how you feel and what’s going on in the world, and give it 100% and encourage those who are down, you are demonstrating your faith.

Today, putting a smile on your face when you feel down or discouraged, believing God’s promises and not your feelings is putting action behind your faith. Taking time to go to church when others say stay home, that’s faith that is alive. Believing that prayer is still the greatest weapon in this warfare, that’s faith that activates God’s power. That’s faith that opens the door for God to move on your behalf! With faith that is alive, you’ll rise up higher. You’ll overcome obstacles, and you’ll move forward, not relying on the government but on God, moving into the blessing and victory He has in store for you!

“…faith without works is dead.” (James 2:20, NKJV)

Pray With Me

Yahweh, thank You for Your Word which is life to my soul. Thank You for the gift of faith, please show me how to exercise it. Father, show me ways to put my faith into action and make it alive. God, guide my steps and keep me close to You, so that everything I do brings honour to You, in Christ’s Name! Amen.

Pray For Others

Helping others was what Christ did most, suggesting that if we are Christians we must be willing to do the same. In scripture, we clearly see God’s system and principle of sowing and reaping. If you sow blessing and mercy into the lives of others, that’s what you’ll reap in your life in return.

Today’s scripture uplifts this principle – when you pray for one another, and confess your sins, you will be healed. There’s a spiritual dynamic at play when you get your mind off yourself and onto others. You’re sowing a seed into the soil of your mind and heart, so that God will do something in your life.

Today, can you think of someone in your life you can pray for? Maybe it’s a friend or a family member in need. They don’t have to be present. You can pray for them as you go about your day, or even while driving in your car. It’s that connection of faith on behalf of others that opens the door for God to move mightily in your own life. Begin now, start praying for one another and watch what God will do in your life!

“Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed…” (James 5:16, NIV)

Pray With Me

Yahweh, thank You for another day that I can be used by You. Father, beginning today I will pray for the people in my life, including those who persecute me and have hurt me, as You have said in Your Word. God, direct my thoughts and prayers so that I can be a blessing to others, always honouring You and reaping abundant blessings in my life, in Christ’s Name! Amen.

Fill Me Up Lord

Last Saturday I met with family after our meal, which was delicious, I was full. Filled to the brim. What do I mean I was filled? It means I was satisfied. It means I had more than enough to meet my needs and share with others.

To be filled starts with our level of expectancy. My question for you today is what are you believing for? What are you expecting? You might say, “Well, I don’t think I’ll ever meet my financial goals.” Or, “I don’t think I’ll ever get that job. I’m not that qualified or experienced.” “I don’t think I’ll ever get well.” The problem is that you’re not looking for those God-given breaks. You’re not expecting increase. You’re not positioning yourself for God to fill you, and unfortunately, you will be disappointed.

Today, let’s ponder upon Jesus‘ Words, “According to your faith it will be done unto you.” He might as well have said, “If you’ve got a cup, I’ll fill you with a cup level of blessing. If you’ve got a bin, I’ll fill you with a bucket level of blessing.” But if you’ll take the limits off, and believe God for supernatural opportunities, if you’ll go out each day expecting far and beyond normality, you won’t be disappointed! He will fill you and satisfy you all the days of your life!

“‘…My people will be filled with My bounty,’ declares the LORD.” (Jeremiah 31:14, NIV)

Pray With Me
Yahweh, thank You for blessing me so that I can be a blessing to others. Father, today my humble request is “please expand my territory.” God, I will open my heart and mind to You, and expect You to fill me with Your goodness, love and power. Today, I choose to take the limits off, so that You can have Your way in my life, in Christ’s Name! Amen.

It’s All Good

Keeping Faith in God During Hard Times

In life we suffer many disappointments and things happen that don’t make sense. People let you down, things didn’t go the way you expected. It’s easy to get discouraged and think, “Why did this happen to me?” “Why did my loved one not make it?” “Why did this person treat me wrong?” “Why did I get laid off?” Some of my collegues lost their jobs recently after many years. We didn’t understand it. They  gave the organisation their best. Always on time, very loyal. I remember thinking “It’s just not right.”

Life isn’t fair at the best of times, but understand that even though life is not always fair, God is fair. He promises that He will work all things together for our good. The key word in today’s verse is “together.” In other words, don’t just isolate one part of your life and say, “Well, this is not fair.” “It’s not good that I got laid off.” “It’s not good that my child got sick.” “It’s not good that my relationship didn’t work out.” Yes, that’s true, but that’s just one part of your life. God can see the bigger picture and He said everything will work out for your good!

Today, know that disappointment is not the end. Your life doesn’t stop because of a few setbacks. That is simply one piece of your puzzle. There is another piece coming to connect it all, because God promises to work all things together for your good, trust Him! All you have to do is love God and accept His purpose.

“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them.” (Romans 8:28, NLT)

Pray With Me
Yahweh, thank You for working all things together for my good. I release any doubt, frustration, disappointments or confusion over my past, and I choose to trust in You. God, help me to see the bigger picture You have for my life, as I love You and embrace Your purpose, keeping my mind stayed on You, in Christ’s Name! Amen.

A Burst Of God’s Power

In today’s scripture, David likened God’s power to the bursting forth of waters. In other words, he described it as a flood, like a dam that has broken. He was saying that when God’s power shows up, it will give you a powerful breakthrough in your marriage, in your finances, in your health and in opportunities. It will be like a burst of His goodness, and a flood of His favour.

When a dam breaks, the burst of water can remove houses, break down walls and rearrange landscapes. That’s how powerful the water is. Water can pick up huge objects like cars, that weigh thousands of pounds, and move them all around. The news has even shown whole houses floating down the river in big floods. Nothing can stop the force of that water! It moves anything in its way! That’s what the power of God can do in your life – reaarange the negative, upset the mundane, and break down the walls that stand between you and divine success.

Today, you may have difficulties that look extremely large, obstacles that look impassable, dreams that look unobtainable. But know this: when the God of the breakthrough releases a burst of His power, nothing can stop it. You need to get ready not for a trickle, not for a stream, not for a river. Get ready for a burst, a flood of God’s power, a tidal wave of His goodness, a tsunami of His increase! I dare you to believe that God is going to overwhelm you with victory in every area of your life today! Hallelujah!

“So [Israel] came up to Baal-perazim, and David smote [the Philistines] there. Then David said, God has broken my enemies by my hand, like the bursting forth of waters. Therefore they called the name of that place Baal-perazim [Lord of breaking through].”

(1 Chronicles 14:11, AMP)

Pray With Me
Yahweh, I invite You to overwhelm me with Your power today. Father, take over every area of my life; my thoughts, my attitude, my body. Flood me with Your healing, favour and strength, as I surrender my entire being to You. God, I give You permission to burst through and change my life, in Christ’s Name! Amen.

God I Want My Fire Back

Sin, Happiness, and Breaking Out of Spiritual Boredom

Because of lockdown and the lack of physical contact and interaction, there is a high rise in spiritual lethargy, addiction and even suicide. How are you feeling today? Do you ever feel like you’ve lost your fire or enthusiasm for life? We all have times when we feel overwhelmed by pressures, but that’s when you need to cry out to God asking Him to stir up what He has placed inside of you. To bring back the fire you once had.

Something to remember, there are no disadvantages with our God, trust Him, He says you have everything you need to progress and succeed. He says no weapon formed against you is ever going to prosper. Ask Him right now to stir up the gift He has placed inside of you, and to bring back your spiritual enthusiasm. Start speaking God’s truths and meditating on His Word!

Today, start right now to claim back the fire you once had by simply declaring, “I am going to see God’s favour in a greater way in my life. New doors are going to begin to open for me. Supernatural opportunities are coming my way. God is setting up divine connections for me. I will be in the right place at the right time. I am going to overcome every obstacle and defeat every enemy. I’m going to see every dream and every desire that God has placed in my heart come to pass in Jesus’ Name!” Hallelujah!

“Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.” (2 Timothy 1:6, NKJV)

Pray With Me

Jehovah, thank You for the dreams, desires and gifts You’ve placed on the inside of me. Father, today I give You permission to stir up those gifts, and reignite my fire for spiritual things. I declare and believe what You say about me in Your Word. I receive the success and victory You have promised me. God, have Your way in my heart today, in Christ’s Name! Amen.

Store Up And Pass On

We all want to live in victory, and we want the same for our family and friends. According to Scripture, Christ went before us and paved the way for victory. Because He lives, we can live in victory in this life and in eternity. Not only can we live in victory, we can help others live in victory, too. We can help the people around us, and we can help the people who are coming after us. We can store up and pass on mercy, peace and blessings for future generations.

Today, the life we live should make it easier for the people who come after us. By living a life of excellence, we are leaving a mark for future generations, that’s what matters most in eternity. It’s good to leave an inheritance, but the most valuable thing you can leave on this earth is a legacy of faith and spiritual victory!

“Therefore know that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments.” (Deuteronomy 7:9, NKJV)

Pray With Me

Yahweh, thank You for the gift of eternity, Father, today I will focus on the hope of eternal things. I am determined to store up and pass on a legacy of faith, mercy, excellence, hope and victory for future generations. God, help me, by Your Spirit, to live a life that honours You and blesses others, in Christ’s Name! Amen.

Divine Inconvenience

Covid-19 and lockdown have interrupted many of our plans and way of life. There are times in life when our plans don’t work out. We get delayed, interrupted and inconvenienced. It’s easy to get frustrated and fight against everything that doesn’t go our way. But, not every interruption is bad. Every closed door doesn’t mean you’re doing something wrong. Every delay doesn’t mean you’re not where you’re supposed to be.

There are some things that are divine interruption, where God, on purpose, will delay us, to protect us from an accident or a bad situation. On purpose, He will close a door because it’s not His best. Sometimes, God will allow us to be inconvenienced so we can help someone else in need. We have to be willing to press through those hard interruptions, so we can be in the right place at the right time for our blessing, or to be a blessing.

Today, as we grapple with life’s uncertainties consider this, the next time you’re interrupted, delayed or inconvenienced, don’t start thinking, “this is a pain. This is depressing. This is getting me off schedule.” No, get a new perspective. Look for what God is doing, because it could be a divine interruption or divine protection. Trust Him because He is directing your steps.

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5—6, NIV)

Pray With Me

Yahweh, thank You for interrupting me and protecting me. Father, I surrender every area of my mind, will and emotions to You, please take control. God, use me for Your glory today, and teach me to discern Your ways and Your timing, and always to look for positives in life’s inconveniences, in Christ’s Name! Amen.

Survival Mode

In these times of pandemic, lockdown and racial tension, many people today are living in “survival mode.” If they can just make it through the day, without stress and anxiety, they’ve accomplished their goal. Life can seem overwhelming and challenging. There are seasons that are more difficult than others. But God doesn’t want us to just survive, He wants us to thrive.

God, wants us to prosper (thrive) in all things. One definition of the word “thrive” means “to realise, reach and accomplish a goal, despite circumstances.” That means you can prosper in all things no matter what is going on around you. You don’t have to settle for a below average year; you can have an extraordinary year despite these unprecedent times.

Today, you may be planning on just surviving, but God is planning on you thriving. He’s planning on overflow and abundance. It’s time to get in agreement with Him. It’s time to walk in His ways. It’s time see your dreams come to pass. It’s time to thrive, because God has a plan for you to prosper and not just survive!

“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” (3 John 1:2, NKJV)

Pray With Me

Yahweh, thank You for the gift of life. Thank You for Your protection during these unprecedented times. Father, I cast my cares on You, knowing that You care about me. God, please remove anxiety, stress and negativity. Help me to see the good plan You have for me, so that I can thrive the way You intended, in Christ’s Name! Amen.
