20,000 people arrived at Trafalgar Square to see the biblical story spectacularly brought to life at the annual performance of The Passion of Jesus in Trafalgar Square on Good Friday.
This moving performance from the Wintershall Players, which commemorates the day Jesus is believed to have been arrested, tried and crucified. A cast of more than 100 actors and volunteers dressed in splendid costumes, as well as horses, donkeys and doves, come together to create an authentic scene in the famous square.
The Silence That the Crowd Sat and Listened in Was Just Extraordinary. We’re in the Center of the Capital of the UK, You Really Don’t Get That Everywhere. This Is Quite Something.
Returning for the eighth year, the show has become a permanent fixture of London’s Easter weekend and attracts tens of thousands of spectators, encompassing all faiths.
There are two 90-minute live performances at 12pm and 3.15pm, which are projected onto big screens so everyone in the square can follow the action.
The Passion of Jesus has a realistic interpretation of the crucifixion, so parental guidance is advised.

Absolutely delighted to find this is happening. God is so good and His arm reaches out in so many ways to a searching world. I am going to pray that I get to go and see this wonderful depiction of the Passion of Christ in London.
