Perhaps it is time to get back to Jesus’ vision for His body.
Much evidence exists that God meant for us to laugh, to have fun, and to find ways to enjoy our lives. When God created our bodies, he made them in such a way that laughter is actually physically beneficial to us.
Animals with a sense of humor showing off their hilarious side have been given the spotlight today.
Do nothing from rivalry or conceit but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests but also to the interests of others.
I’ve never heard a sermon about God’s sense of humor. Nor have I read a theology book that lists God’s laughter as one of his immutable characteristics?
Being able to lighten up and see the funny side might not seem important. But being able to laugh at yourself and at life is lifelong protection against depression, anxiety, and anger – all toxic emotions.
