In the Old Testament, Hannah desperately wanted chil­dren. Every year, when her family went to worship at Shiloh, she judged herself to be a failure by her culture’s standards. And one day it broke her. She was in deep anguish; she couldn’t eat, and all she could do was weep. No one could comfort her. Despite the hopelessness of her situation, Hannah prayed and turned to the Holy One, who “had closed her womb.” 

With all of her emotions, she begged God to attend to her helplessness and grant her a son. In her prayer, Hannah trusted that God heard her and cared about her and would answer her cry. God did hear Hallelujah! God gave Hannah the gift of a son. 

Today, when we experience dark days and seasons of grief and despair, like Hannah in the bible, we can cry out to God and claim His faithfulness. In such moments we are called to remember the story and love of our generous, gracious God—the God of hope, the God who will make right what is wrong in our lives, the God who will overturn all that causes us grief. Just like Hannah’s prayer was answered with a son, our moments of desperation, despair and discouragement can be reversed with the gift of God’s son Jesus Christ. Why not try Him today. 

I am a woman who is deeply troubled. . . . I was pouring out my soul to the Lord. (1 Samuel 1:15)

Let’s Pray 

Yahweh, thank you that when I’m in darkness and I cry out to you, you always come through. God help me to remember that your Son is my light who came to take away my despair and show me the way to abundant life. In your name Christ, we pray. Amen.

These days are frustrating and sometimes overwhelming to say the least. During times like these, we have to be especially careful about what we think and say. It is said that our lives will go in the direction of our thoughts. Do you need to change your thoughts? 

In Psalm 77 the psalmist, while under immense pressure and challenges, cried out to God and said, “You know what? I’m going to focus on what You have done for me. I’m going to dwell on Your goodness. I will recall Your deeds.” 

Today, you may be frustrated and facing challenges, don’t dwell on negative, self-defeating thoughts. Instead, recall God’s deeds. Focus on what He’s done for you. Thank Him for the gift of life and salvation. Make a list of all His wonderful blessings. Let your thoughts turn toward Him throughout the day and recall His wonderful deeds! 

“But then I recall all you have done, O Lord; I remember your wonderful deeds of long ago. They are constantly in my thoughts. I cannot stop thinking about your mighty works.” 

(Psalm 77:11–12) 

Let’s Pray 

Yahweh, I bless Your holy Name! Father, thank You for the gift of life both now and in eternity. God, today I give You my frustrations and challenges. Instead, I will recall Your mighty works. Thank You God for loving me and setting me free. Help me to keep my mind on Your good deeds always, in Christ’s Name! Amen.

True Confession

Did you know true Confession is more than just admitting wrongdoing; it’s an acknowledgement of our need for God’s grace. When we confess our sins, we’re not informing God of something He doesn’t already know. Instead, we’re agreeing with Him about our sinfulness and expressing our desire for His forgiveness and cleansing.

Scripture says, God’s response to our confession is both faithful and just. He is faithful, meaning He will always forgive as He has promised. He is just, because Jesus Christ has already paid the penalty for our sins. This divine forgiveness is complete, covering every aspect of our sinfulness and purifying us from all unrighteousness.

Today, as you reflect on God’s forgiveness to your confession, take a moment to consider the personal significance. It’s an invitation to experience God’s boundless mercy and a call to live in the freedom that comes from His forgiveness. Let this promise encourage you to approach God honestly and humbly, trusting in His unfailing love and grace to make you whole again.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)

Let’s Pray

Yahweh, I acknowledge and confess before You that I am a sinner, guilty and corrupt, prone to evil, and I have transgressed Your holy law. Lord, with heartfelt sorrow, I repent and deplore my offences! Please have compassion on me and remove my guilt and corruption. Grant me Your Holy Spirit, that I might put to death the sin that is within me. Father, I trust You for these graces based on the death and resurrection of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen.

In these uncertain times we can learn the attitude of the psalmist David. He was going through very tough uncertain times when he declared the words in today’s verse. He said in effect, “I’m not worried. I’m not upset. I am confident I will see God’s goodness.” In other words, “this situation I’m in may be rough, but that’s not going to steal my vision or joy. It’s not going to cause me to give up on my dreams. I am confident that in this crazy unpredictable year, I will see God’s favour unfold in my life.” 

Today remember, what you focus on, is what will come to pass. No matter what the medical report says, no matter what your finances look like, no matter how bad that relationship may seem, be confident that you will see God’s goodness unfold in your life!  

Today, during this strange time, we must not forget our God is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnibenevolent. He is the creator of the universe, and He holds you, your plans and your dreams in the palm of His hand. So you can be confident nothing is too difficult for Him! Take hold of this truth by faith and focus on His goodness today! 

“I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.” (Psalm 27:13) 

Let’s Pray 

Yahweh, thank You for Your goodness in my life. Father, I remain confident in Your power to control my life in these uncertain times. I will focus on You no matter what my circumstances may look like. God please give me Your peace as I keep my mind stayed on You in Christ’s Name! Amen.

God wants to restore everything that’s been stolen from your life. He wants to restore your joy, your peace, your health and your finances. We serve a God of restoration! You may have had some disappointments or unfair things happen in your life; but don’t dwell on the past and live in defeat.  

Restoration comes by intentionally choosing to focus on His promises like today’s verse. Here’s the key; you have to believe you can be restored and have that vision printed in the forefront of your mind. You have to get your hopes up and decide to get your thoughts and words in sync, going in the right positive direction. 

Today, choose to focus on the future and release past hurts through forgiveness. Draw a line in the sand and say, “I am a child of the Most High God, and I’m not going to live my life negative and defeated. This is a new day, and I’m taking back what belongs to me. I will have  a restoration mentality!”

“I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten…” (Joel 2:25) 

Let’s Pray
Yahweh, thank You for restoring my life. Father, thank You for the truth of Your Word that sets me free. Almighty God, fill me with Your power right now, so that I can stand strong and move forward on the path You have for me, in Christ’s Name! Amen. 

You were on God’s mind before you were ever on your parents’ mind. He knew everything about you before you entered your mother’s womb. You were created on purpose, for a purpose. He planned the colour of your hair, the colour of your eyes and the colour of your skin. God gave you gifts, talents and abilities to be used for His glory. He took one look at you and said, “approved.” 

It doesn’t matter who’s approval you didn’t get, know that Almighty God loves you and totally approves of you. There’s nothing you can do now or ever to change that. You may be thinking, “I’ve made so many mistakes, I have sinned wilfully how can God approve of me?” Understand that when God sees you, He separates you from your behaviour. He may not approve of your actions, but He desires to help you grow and make better choices by His grace.  

Today, receive His unconditional love and acceptance. Allow Him to work in your life. Allow His love to empower and strengthen you, because He has approved and equipped you to live in victory all the days of your life! 

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew [and] approved of you…” (Jeremiah 1:5) 

Let’s Pray 

Yahweh, thank You for unconditionally approving me and empowering me. Father, I open my heart and mind to You and accept Your approval of sinful me. I invite You to have Your way in my life. Please God, remove any negative self thoughts that would hold me back from all You have in store, in Christ’s Name! Amen. 

One thing I desire is to be counted among those who intentionally draw near to Jesus. Near to the One who saves us, loves us, and pours immeasurable grace and mercy into our lives. The One who leads and guides us, strengthens us, and never leaves us. 

In the bible, we are reminded of folk who desired to be close to Jesus. I remember Mary, at the feet of Jesus. John, the beloved disciple, leaning on the chest of our Lord. David, the psalmist whose soul thirst for God. Enoch, walking close beside Him—so close, in fact, that God just walked him on up to Heaven, completely bypassing death. The list could go on and on. I want my name to be included with those who have deeply desired intimate communion and fellowship with the Lord. Don’t you? 

Today, I want to draw near to the Lord who wakes me up each morning and reminds me that this new day He has made is a day to be glad. And I am glad—deep in my heart, glad that I am His and He is mine. I am grateful that I have the privilege of walking in a close relationship with Him. Let’s live each day for Him and with Him and be counted as one of God’s closest friends. There is no better place to be. 

“The LORD is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth.” (Psalm 145:18)

Let’s Pray 

Yahweh, I thank You that You desire to spend time with me. Father, Your Word says if I draw near to You, You will draw near to me—and I want to be close to You. So, right now, I ask that You cause me to desire to draw close to You above everything else in my life. God, help me to have supernatural time management, help me to see clearly when I can set aside time to spend with You, and help me never to compromise that time. In Christ’s name, Amen.

When we ask God to change us or fix us and He begins to do a work in our lives, things can get a little uncomfortable before we see change, or whilst He is changing us. We may encounter people who are hard to get along with or experience circumstances that seem beyond our control. When this happens, instead of getting upset or complaining, just pause and say, “Lord, thank You for doing a work in me.” 

Did you know, God is more interested in changing you than He is in changing your circumstances? If you choose to stay sour because you’re not getting your own way, or if you get discouraged because things aren’t happening on your timetable, that’s going to keep you stuck, miserable and sad. 

Today, if you want to see change, if you want to see God open up new doors, the key is to bloom right where you’re planted. You can’t wait until everything gets better before you decide to have a good attitude. You have to be the best that you can be right where you are. When you bloom where you are planted, you’re allowing God to work in you, and He will be faithful to complete the change He started in you! 

“…he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 1:6) 

Let’s Pray 

Yahweh, I thank You for doing a work in me. I’m not complete but I can see growth in my life. Father, I will align myself with Your plan, so I can bloom wherever You plant me. God, help me, by Your Spirit, to be an example of Your love and life everywhere I go, in Christ’s Name! Amen. 

With death, domestic violence, sibling rivalry, race issues etc on the increase, there will be more and more bitterness and long-term unforgiveness and resentment in our society. Bitterness is an extremely destructive force. It can seep into the depths of your heart if you choose not to forgive someone.

Scripture tells us that if we choose not to forgive others, it will even hinder our prayers. Thank God that He has empowered us to forgive and release bitterness! It all begins with a choice. You may have been through unfair situations, but it’s not over until God says it’s over. God always has the final say. He is a God of justice, even today during these hard times. He sees every wrong that’s ever been done to you and every unfair situation, and He will make it right. Trust Him!

Today, If you will stay in faith and choose to forgive, God will make your wrongs right. He’ll bring justice into your life. Your attitude should be, “it may have been unfair. They may have done me wrong, but I refuse to get bitter. I know my time is coming.” Choose forgiveness, honour God and walk in complete freedom in every area of your life!

“Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.” (Ephesians 4:31)

Let’s Pray

Yahweh, today I refuse bitterness. I refuse to allow the past or present to keep me stuck. Father, take away my negative feelings towards others. Please help me right now to forgive those who have hurt me. God, I pray blessings on them, that they would come to know Your truth and their lives will be changed. In faith, I thank You for setting my heart free, in Jesus’ Name! Amen.

There is a principle called karma. Have you heard the saying, “What goes around, comes around” or “What you sow, you will reap?”. These are really spiritual principles. God’s kingdom operates on a system of sowing and reaping.  

Today’s verse tells us that when we sow righteousness, we’ll reap a sure reward. What does that mean? Sowing righteousness simply means doing the right thing, obeying the Word no matter what the circumstances may look like. It means showing kindness even when it’s undeserved. It’s walking in love and keeping the peace when you really want to say something different. When you sow righteousness, you’ll reap a sure reward. That’s because God Himself is going to pay you back. He is the One who will multiply you when you honour Him. 

Today, remember what goes around, comes around, so keep doing the right thing even if the wrong thing is happening. Sow righteousness, stay in faith, keep believing, because He who promised is faithful, and there’s a sure reward in store for you! 

“…he who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward.” (Proverbs 11:18) 

Let’s Pray 

Yahweh, thank You for setting up the system of sowing and reaping that blesses me as I bless others. God, teach me how to sow righteously today so I can honour You, bless others, and in turn receive abundance in my life, in Christ’s Name! Amen. 

It is God who gives us the time we have, from the beginning to the end of our lives. It is not our own. Many people, however, have the arrogant notion that time is their own, so they should be able to spend it as they wish. But time is not a commodity we get to “spend”.

Scripture teaches, God built creation with Sabbath rest as its goal. This was not because God was exhausted after six days of creation. The rest that God commands is for us, so that we can enjoy His creation and honour the one who gives us life within it. So each week we should enjoy a day of rejoicing in God’s work while setting our own work aside.

Today, plenty of people think that this command is inconsequential. They believe their own work is so important that it super­sedes God’s Sabbath command. It does not. Resting and rejoicing in God reminds us that we are not in control. Some of my friends own supermarkets. Their stores are not open on Sabbath. In this way, they show they love God more than money. They and their employees enjoy a Sabbath rest in honour of God. God has prospered them and will do so for all who keep his Sabbath.

“Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God.” (Exodus 20:8-9)

Let’s Pray

Yahweh, thank you for the time you have given us. Father, thank you for reminding us each week, through the Sabbath, that time is not our own. Lord thank you for the gift of time that you Bless us with. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Though it sounds so simple to say, when we are facing difficult, frightful, or uncertain times, remember the words of 1 Peter 5:7.

We cannot prevent dealing with difficult circumstances in our lives, but we tend to think that we have to carry the emotional burden too. However, God wants us to give him that burden. Things don’t always work out how we would like. When we hand over our concerns to God, who loves and cares for us, we can have peace knowing that He is in control.

Today as we face difficult times, remember Psalm 23:4, “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil; for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.” Today give everything to God, He can handle it and He cares.

 “Cast all your cares on him, for he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7)

Yahweh, please help us trust you and hand over our fears and concerns to you, believing and trusting in you is what you call us to do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

God’s call to “not fear” is more than comforting advice; it’s a directive, grounded in His unchanging presence. It reminds us that no matter what we face, we are not alone. The Almighty is with us, and His presence assures us of security and peace.

The Bible tells us of God’s personal support – to strengthen, help, and uphold us. It is incredibly powerful. It’s not a distant, abstract assurance; it’s a commitment from God to be actively involved in our lives. He offers strength when we are weak, help when we are overwhelmed, and support when we feel like we’re falling.

Today, let’s embrace the depth of God’s commitment to us. Let His words sink deep into our hearts, dispelling fear and replacing it with a profound sense of His strength and nearness. In every challenge, remember that God is there, ready to provide the strength and help we need. His unwavering support is our constant source of strength and reassurance.

Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10)

Let’s Pray

Yahweh, Father, help me not to be afraid, timid, fearful, or worried. Father, I don’t even want to allow a tiny bit of fear to enter the equation. Instead, I want to trust You completely. Please God, empower me to be strong and courageous! Help me not to be afraid and not to panic. Thank You for the promise that You will personally go ahead of me. You will neither fail me, nor abandon me. God help me to be strong in You and Your mighty power. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Do you need a fresh start this new year? Even as believers and ministers in Christ, we’ve all sinned, made mistakes and made some wrong choices in 2024. The Bible says that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. But the good news is that we don’t have to stay separated from God in our sin. God wants us to come to Him so He can forgive us, cleanse us and give us a fresh start.

No matter what happened yesterday, last week, last year or even five minutes ago, God is waiting for you with open arms. Don’t let the enemy or people condemn you and lie to you this year. God is not mad at you. He loves you more than you know and longs to restore everything in your life.

Today I admonish you to confess your sins to God and allow Him to cleanse you and give you a fresh start this new year. Choose to forgive others so that you can receive God’s forgiveness. Ask the Holy Spirit to keep you close so you can live a life pleasing to Him. As you draw close to God, He will draw close to you and show you His great love and blessings all the days of your life! Hallelujah!

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9)

Lets Pray 
Yahweh, thank You for receiving me just as I am, with all my deliberate sins, faults, mistakes, and bad habits. Father, I cry out in confession of my sins to You and ask You to cleanse me. Please help me make a fresh start today. I choose to forgive others so that You can forgive me. God, Keep me close to you in this coming year so that I can live a life that is pleasing to You. Thank You for not condemning me and setting me free, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
