From God, With Love

A few nights ago, I was sitting in my car reflecting on my day. I looked up and it was amazing – the lights, the stars and the bright moon all seemed so surreal, it shouted I love you! All through the world we see God’s love, even in the midst of chaos. There is tremendous power in love! In the same way that a tree will grow taller and stronger when its roots grow deep, you will be stronger and rise higher when you are rooted in God’s love.

Love starts with a choice. When you say “yes” to God, you are saying “yes” to love, because God is love! According to 1 Corinthians 13, love means being patient and kind. It means not seeking your own way, not being jealous or boastful. When you choose love instead of choosing to hate, you are showing the world that God is first place in your life. The more you choose to love, the stronger your spiritual roots will grow.

Today, let me remind you, love is the greatest principle and it’s the currency of Heaven. Love will last throughout eternity. Choose to love today, and let it be strong in your heart. Let His love build security in you, and empower you to live the life of kindness, patience and peace God has for you.

“…May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love.”(Ephesians 3:17)

Let’s Pray

Yahweh, today and everyday, I choose love. Father, show me how to love You and others the way You love me. Give me patience and kindness. Take away selfishness, jealousy and pride. God, thank You for setting me free and empowering me to live the life You have for me, in Christ’s Name! Amen.

True Love

Today’s verse tells us how to make love great – by being kind. You may have heard today’s verse many times before, but one translation puts it this way “love looks for a way to be constructive.” In other words, kindness isn’t just about being nice; it’s looking for ways to improve someone else’s life. It’s bringing out the best in others.

Each morning, when you start your day, don’t just spend time thinking about yourself, or how you can make your own life better. Think about ways you can make someone else’s life better too! Ask yourself, “who can I encourage today? Who can I build up?” You have something to offer those around you that no one else can give. Someone in your life needs your encouragement. Someone in your life needs to know that you believe in them. We are responsible for how we treat the people He’s placed in our lives. He’s counting on us to bring out the best in our family and friends.

Today, ask the Lord to give you creative ways to encourage those around you. As you sow seeds of encouragement and bring out the best in others, God will send people along your path that will build you up too. Keep showing kindness so you can move forward into the blessings and freedom God has for you!

“…love is kind…” (1 Corinthians 13:4)

Let’s Pray

Yahweh, thank You for loving me when I was unlovable. Father, thank You for believing in me and always building me up, even when I disrespect Your kingdom. God, I ask that You show me creative ways to encourage and build up the people around me. Help me to be an example of Your love today and always, in Christ’s Name! Amen.

God, Take My Breath Away

Have you gone through the year struggling or striving to make something happen? Maybe it’s a breakthrough in your finances, or in a relationship. It is good to do everything we know to do in the natural, but we have to always remember that victory or breakthrough doesn’t come by human might nor power, but by the Spirit of the living God.

The word Spirit in today’s verse in some translations can be translated as breath (Ruach). “It’s by the breath of Almighty God,” that’s how breakthroughs come. When you realise God is breathing in you by His Spirit, it’s time to take a leap of faith and say, “yes, this is my year; I’m going to accomplish my dreams, I’m going to reach my goals, I’m going to grow spiritually.” That’s when you will feel God’s wind beneath your wings. That’s when you’ll feel a supernatural lift, an anointing that will help you accomplish what you could not accomplish before.

Today, know that the breath (Ruach) of God is blowing through you. This is your season. This is your year to believe again. Believe that God can open doors that no man can shut. Believe that He is working in your favour. Believe that it’s your season, it’s your year, and get ready to embrace every blessing He has in store for you! Hallelujah!

“…‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty.” (Zechariah 4:6)

Let’s Pray

Yahweh, thank You for the power of Your Holy Spirit at work in my life. Father, today I surrender every area of my heart, my mind, my will and my emotions to You. God, I believe if You breath into me Your supernatural power, then my breakthrough will come, so I give You permission to take my breath away and fill me with Your Spirit, so that things will change in this coming year. Direct my steps and give me power to overcome my weaknesses. In Christ’s Name! Amen.

A New Season

Are you aware that God has put a promise inside each one of us? We often must go through the wilderness before reaching our promised land. Oftentimes, like Joseph, we feel like we are in a pit long before we ever see the palace. Maybe you’re in a season right now where you don’t see anything happening. You think, “I’ve been praying and believing for a year, five years, ten years. It’s never going to work out”.

Scripture says, the eyes of the Lord search to and fro to find someone who will be faithful on His behalf. Be the person He finds faithful. Keep believing, keep praying, keep obeying and stay the course.

Today be encouraged. You may be tired, discouraged and frustrated, but don’t give up on your future. Stay on the high road. Our God is a faithful God. It may be taking a long time, but what He started He will finish in your life. He will lead you into victory!

“Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.’ ” (Isaiah 30:21).

Let’s Pray

Yahweh, thank You for leading and guiding me in paths of righteousnessFather, I choose to trust even when I don’t understand. God, I believe that You are working behind the scenes for my good. I will stay the course knowing that You have blessing and victory in store for me. In Christ’s name, Amen.

Who Is Your Bathsheba?

If you’re unfamiliar with the story, David slept with his top soldier’s wife while he was at battle. He sent her back home and later found out she was pregnant. This act ultimately led King David to murder his soldier. This was the first record of a “hit it and quit it”. Literally. David hit the skins and immediately sent her home.

David was a soldier – no, a warrior – but he didn’t put on his armour for daily battle. He left himself exposed for the enemy to attack and conquer. How many mornings of yours resemble that of David’s evening? What is your Bathsheba? Maybe it’s porn. Maybe it’s a co-worker or female at your church. Only you know. However, I know this…we cannot afford to start our days off unarmed.

Today Brothers, let’s make a pact to honour God with the first of our mornings. Honour him with daily prayer and dependence. Morning prayer, like breakfast, is the most important part of our day as men. Remember, there’s nothing you can do that hasn’t already been done. Don’t let the devil trick you into thinking your sin is too great for forgiveness. As He did King David, God is ready and willing to forgive your sexual sins, He’s just waiting on you to ask.

For this scripture, I’d like to highlight what David did NOT do as soon as he got up:

– Pray

– Guard his eyes

– Guard his heart

“One evening David got up from his bed and walked around on the roof of the palace. From the roof he saw a woman bathing. The woman was very beautiful, and David sent someone to find out about her. The man said, “She is Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam and the wife of Uriah the Hittite.” Then David sent messengers to get her. She came to him, and he slept with her. Then she went back home.” (2 Samuel 11:2-4)

Let’s Pray

Yahweh, thank you for your grace and mercy. For your forgiveness for every Bathsheba we have had in our lives. For every porn site visited. For every secret sin, we have not confessed or repented of. Lord, we give our heart to you to cleanse it and make it whole. Renew our minds. We cannot do it ourselves, so we thank you for your strength. Now teach us how to use this strength daily, in Christ name, Amen.

What Are You Talking About

After listening to comments made about men’s mental wellbeing, I said to myself – words have tremendous power. No matter what you may be facing today, the words of your mouth can help set the course for victory or defeat.

Brothers, when you wake up with an attitude of faith, hope and expectancy and declare out of your mouth that God is your refuge, you will be strengthened and empowered by His Spirit. When you talk like you are blessed and walk like you are blessed, you will live like you are blessed! When you declare favour and blessing, you are sowing favour and blessing, and you will reap a harvest of favour and blessing in return.

Today, brothers, it’s so important to take inventory of what you are saying on a regular basis. Even when challenges and obstacles arise, you have to rise up and say, “If God is for me, who can be against me?” Every day, let go of the weeds of unforgiveness and bitterness. Water your seed with the Word of God so you can move forward into the abundant life God has for you!

“I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my Refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust [with great confidence, and on whom I rely’]!” (Psalm 91:2)

Let’s Pray

Yahweh, thank You for Your Word which is like refreshing water to my soul. Father, help me choose the right things to say, so that I can live in victory all the days of my life, in Christ’s Name! Amen.

Don’t Retaliate – Love Conquers All

As hard as it may be sometimes, paying evil back with evil always results in death for all parties involved. The operating force behind revenge is the pride of life. When we elevate ourselves above being able to be offended, we open ourselves up to retaliation as a response.

It is this type of prideful elevation that attempts to put you above God by deeming yourself more apt to render a just punishment for the offence given – when God has called us to do the opposite. In the face of being done wrong, do right by them. It doesn’t mean you blindly allow people to run all over you or treat you any way they desire, but it does mean that you lead with forgiveness. You process every evil act towards you through the filter of forgiveness before you let it generate anger.

It means you are mature enough in Christ to see the spirit at work,  instead of the person who wronged you. Enabling you to channel your anger properly to the adversary and not the child of God that he used to wrong you. Never forget that love covers a multitude of sins. Wherever there is love, there is God, there is healing, there is forgiveness, and there is liberty.

Today, don’t give the enemy any residence in your life by harnessing hate towards anyone no matter how badly they wronged you. Annihilate his presence by relentlessly treating others better than their actions have qualified them to receive. Keep on loving them in spite of it all and let God handle them justly.

“Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else.” (1 Thessalonians 5:15)

Let’s Pray

Yahweh, help me to be more humble. Father, I know I should not take any personal attack directed towards me. I know it’s spiritual. I will not let the devil deceive me into responding through my flesh. Instead, I put my flesh under submission of your Holy Spirit and rely on your strength to guide my words and actions toward others who have and will offend me. In Christ’s name, I pray, Amen.

Men, It’s Time To Take Your Gloves Off

Like a wounded boxer with only a round to go and losing the fight, it’s now time to draw the line and fight like there is no tomorrow. The devil is on attack, and he will not let up until you and your family are destroyed.

As men of God, we cannot risk another moment fighting this spiritual fight with natural means. It’s not about politics or military might. It’s not about the amount of money you make. Those things are important, but they are also distractions.

It’s about God and the direction He wants you to take your family. As a man of God, your primary goal is to make sure you and your family have a relationship with Christ. Through these relationships, you can establish the strength to fight from a place of victory in Christ. The enemy will do everything possible to prevent it, but it won’t work. You have at your disposal the most powerful weapon mankind has ever seen… Prayer.

Today, it’s time to take off the gloves, fall to your knees and lift your hands in surrender to Christ. No more fighting in the physical. If so, you’re fighting in an arena destined to lose. Instead, take it to the spiritual arena, where your victory is guaranteed. Speak over your family, pray for your kids, and rebuke any attempt you see the enemy making to destroy their confidence and identity in Christ. Don’t fall for his distractions. He knows he doesn’t stand a chance against the power of prayer. So, use it!

“The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.” (2 Corinthians 10:4)

Let’s Pray

Yahweh, in your name, I pray this prayer. Devil, you can’t have my family. Your feeble attempts to destroy what God ordained will not come to pass. God, thank you for being my protection. You are greater than any deceit the enemy can come up with. Today, devil, I will beat you down, knock you out, and annihilate you with the power of prayer in the name of Yahshua, the Messiah. God protect us, I pray. Amen.

My Sun and Shield

God longs to be your sun and shield. You may ask what does the sun do for us? It lights our way; it keeps us warm; it nourishes the plants of the earth so that we can have sustenance. The earth is sustained by its relationship to the sun, and God wants to sustain you through your relationship with Him. He wants to be your shield of protection against all the fiery darts of the enemy. He wants to light and direct your path. He wants to keep you warm when life seems cold.

Today, are you ready to receive God as your sun and shield? If you’ve been relying on anything or anyone else, let it go and put your trust in Almighty God. Open your heart and receive all that He has for you. Receive His blessing and protection today. Let His light shine on your path so you can move forward into the life God has for you!

“For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favour and honour; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.” (Psalm 84:11)

Let’s Pray

Yahweh, right now I open my heart and mind to You. Father, I receive Your blessing and favour and ask that You direct my every step. God, show me Your ways that I may walk with You today and always, in Christ’s Name! Amen.

It’s My Emotions

Our emotions are God-given, but too often, people allow their negative circumstances to dictate their emotions instead of the Word of God. If there’s one thing that can lead you away from your God given potential and seeing the awesome plan God has for your life – it’s your emotions.

If we allow our circumstances to dictate our emotions, and are moved by what we see and experience, doors for doubt and fear are open. When we allow doubt and fear in, we become emotionally unstable. The way you feel today has little to do with what God is actually doing in your life. He’s always working behind the scenes, even if we don’t realize!

Today, don’t allow yourself to be tossed around by your emotions. Instead, choose to be stable minded by focusing your thoughts on the Word of God and hanging with positive people. Stand strong in God so you can confidently embrace the plans He has for you!

“But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.” (James 1:6)

Let’s Pray

Yahweh, thank You for Your Word which guides my feet and lights my path. Father, I choose to meditate on Your Truth which is my source of mental strength. God please help me to be stable minded, as I focus on You and your word. In Christ’ Name, Amen.

I AM FREE!

If you’ve done things wrong (and we all have), the forgiveness that comes from God through the blood of Jesus can lift the guilt and shame, and take the weight from your shoulders. The key to God’s forgiveness is knowing and accepting that Christ gave His life to pay the price for the things you’ve done wrong. There is no sin that God cannot forgive. God’s forgiveness is made complete by asking Christ into your life, and surrendering your life to Him. Remember, your sin doesn’t take away your purpose or calling.

Today, God is speaking to your heart and drawing you to Himself. He doesn’t want you to perish. God wants to give you life. He wants you to pass from death to life. He wants to take you out of Satan’s Kingdom of darkness and bring you into God’s Kingdom. The way He does that is by saying to you, ‘your sins are forgiven’. Can you imagine what it’s like to have all your sins forgiven? To have the load taken off of your back and to be set free? Accept it today and experience God’s freedom.

Gods Promises
Claim them today;
So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed” (John 8:36)Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:13)

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)

Let’s Pray
Yahweh, I believe that You are the Son of God. I believe that You are the only Saviour promised to me who will give me eternal life. God, I want to be set free from my sin. I don’t want to be a slave to sin any longer. Take away my guilt and shame today. Cover me with Your blood. Break the devil’s hold on me and remove the curse. Give me the faith to believe it is done. Christ, I receive You as my Lord and Saviour. I want to be Your child, in Christ’s Name! Amen.

Blessings For You

God has a blessing for every one of us that will cause us to rise from lack into abundance! It will take you from barely getting by, to more than enough. God’s blessing brings supernatural increase and peace of mind. We were never created to drag through life constantly struggling. God has commanded blessings when we come into agreement with His Word in our minds and actions.

In Deuteronomy 28, Scripture tells us that if we will live a life of honour and obedience, then blessings will overtake us. It says that we will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country. God will open up to you His good treasury and cause you to lend and not borrow. He will make you plenteous in goods and give you a surplus in all areas of your life.

Today, let this thought sink deep down into your spirit: the Creator of the universe has commanded blessings just for you. Receive it today and choose to follow Him in everything you do!

“If you fully obey the LORD your God and carefully follow all His commands I give you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the LORD your God.” (Deuteronomy 28:1–2)

Let’s Pray

Yahweh, thank You for all Your blessings. Father, I receive Your truth which sets me free. God help me, by Your Spirit, to follow Your commands so that I may live a life that brings You honour. In Christ’s Name, Amen.

Lord Make Me An Overcomer

As we approach the final month of the year. You maybe facing some challenges, or experiencing some unexpected setbacks that will go into the New Year with you. We all have things that come against us and remain with us for a length of time, but God didn’t create us to be overwhelmed, He created us to be overcomers!

As we face challenges, it’s our attitude that is most important. Think about it for a moment. When something isn’t going your way month after month, how do you respond? Are you tempted to get sour and start expecting the worst? Does your mind start going “crazy” playing out all the worst scenarios? It may be easy to get down and discouraged, but if we go around thinking it’s never going to work out, our attitude may limit what God can do. But when we dig our heels in, knowing that God is bigger than our problems, when we fight the good fight of faith, that’s what allows God to show up and turn negative situations into positive ones.

Today, remember, on the brink of a new month and a new year, you are created to overcome. There is victory already in store for your future. So no matter what the difficulty, stand strong with the attitude of an overcomer and watch what God will do on your behalf!

“For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.” (1 John 5:4)

Let’s Pray

Yahweh, thank You for making me an overcomer now and in the coming month and year. Father, I believe that You are bigger than my problems or any obstacle I will face. Thank You that You have my back and are working on my behalf. God, thank You for the victories and the challenges of this past year, I leave them behind and look forward, embracing the victories and challenges that will come my way. Help me to be rooted and grounded in You, in Christ’s Name! Amen.

As Strong As Steel

In the last few days, I’ve been feeling quite weak. In the Bible, Joseph went through seasons of weakness and difficulty. He was rejected by his family, sold into slavery, lied about, mistreated, abandoned, falsely accused, and thrown in jail. But through it all, Joseph never gave up. He kept pressing through and doing the right thing even though the wrong thing kept happening.

The Bible says in Psalm 105:18, ‘as Joseph lay in prison in those chains of iron…’, in other words, as things got hard and difficult while in prison – Joseph kept fighting, and his soul became as strong as that steel. God developed a supernatural strength in him that no one could take away.

Today, if you are going through difficulty, God wants to increase your strength. He wants to increase your power to overcome. He wants to make your inner man as strong as steel. When you keep standing, keep believing, and keep doing the right thing, you are opening yourself to God’s supernatural strength. That’s when you know you are growing in Him. Be strong today. Keep pressing forward, because God is at work increasing strength in you so that you can live in victory in every area of your life!

“He gives power to the faint and weary, and to him who has no might He increases strength [causing it to multiply and making it to abound].” (Isaiah 40:29)

Let’s Pray

Yahweh, today I surrender every difficulty to You. Father, I release my questions, hurts and frustrations. God, I choose to trust You and do the right thing. Increase Your strength in me so that I can live in the victory and become as strong as steel, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Without Compromise

Like me, you may be asking, ‘how do I sustain my spiritual integrity by unapologetically and confidently living out my faith in a world with conflicting ideals, the onslaught of mainstream media’s indoctrination, the toxicity of immoral societal influences, and the deterioration of sound moral discernment?!’ Are you concerned about those influences on your mind? Perhaps, confusion runs rampant, like an inconvenient wildfire consuming every consideration, creed, and comfort.

In scripture, Paul, aware of alluring cultural influences, provides us with sound timely counsel. He emphatically warns Christians not to emulate cultural norms or be enticed by worldly ways because they conflict with God’s will. Instead, Paul counsels us to counter the enticing values and influences by renewing our minds. He assures us that when we renew our minds, we will discern the difference between the world’s will and God’s will and respond accordingly, without remorse or compromise.

Today, as Christians living in a fallen – confused world, we cannot allow the world’s standards to influence how we live life. God desires to align our values and actions through his Word. When we allow God to renew our minds through the continuing influence of his Word, we inherently counter our cultural confusion and oppression by boldly and confidently discerning God’s way from the world’s way. Renewing our minds allows God to impress His Word and His will on our conscience. Our minds influence the actions of our hearts and reflect and accomplish His good work. Compromise should not be an option for Christians.

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is — his good, pleasing and perfect will”. (Romans 12:2)

Let’s Pray

Yahweh, I thank you that I am your redeemed child. Father, protect my heart and mind from the relentless seduction of the world. God, create in me an insatiable hunger for your Word. May your Holy Spirit teach and lead me into all truth so that I may reflect and accomplish your perfect will, without compromise. In Christ’s name, Amen.

 Hope Amidst Discouragement

In our lives, we can often face times of discouragement. Our spirits can feel heavy, and our hearts burdened. When that happens, however, we can turn to God and lean on him, finding hope in his promises and unfailing love.

Discouragement can come from various sources—disappointments, failures, prolonged challenges. Yet even amid such trials, we can choose to put our hope in God. He is our refuge and strength, the one who sustains us through every season.

We can find solace in God’s Word when discouragement threatens to overwhelm us. His mighty acts and daily provisions remind us of his faithfulness, and his promises give us hope for the future. God is always present to help in times of trouble, and his love and grace are sufficient for us.

As we anchor our hope in God, our perspective shifts. We begin to see beyond our present circumstances, and we focus on the unchanging nature of our heavenly Father. He is the source of true joy and peace, and in him, we find strength to persevere.

Today, if you find yourself discouraged, turn to God in prayer. Pour out your heart before him and listen for his comforting voice. Trust in his perfect timing and purposes, knowing that he is working all things together for your good.

Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Saviour and my God. (Psalm 42:11)

Let’s Pray

Yahweh, when we are discouraged, may we turn to find hope, peace, and strength in you. Fill our hearts with praise and joy today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
