Luke 14:26

"If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters--yes, even their own life--such a person cannot be my disciple."
Luke 14:26

Hate is a tough word. But context is key...

Luke 12:45

But suppose the servant says to himself, 'My master is taking a long time in coming,' and he then begins to beat the other servants, both men and women, and to eat and drink and get drunk.
Luke 12:45

In this parable, Christ says the steward who doesn’t trust his master’s return, will live a poor life of mistreatment of others and excess in earthly pleasures. To be ready for Christ’s return is to live a life of love, spiritual focus and self control.

Luke 11:2

He said to them, "When you pray, say: "'Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come.
Luke 11:2

Jesus taught prayer is more than mere wishing, but a sincere and intense conviction God’s will is best. It’s our perception that needs changing, not our circumstance.

Luke 10:20

However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven." Luke 10:20

Be modest in your talentsand spiritual success God works through you. What God does for you is greater than what you could ever do for Him.
