Exposing Darkness

Remember, confronting and exposing darkness is not about passing judgment or promoting self-righteousness. Instead, it’s about shining the light of God’s truth on actions, attitudes, or systems that contradict His will. It involves being honest about sin – both in our lives and in the world around us. While this might be uncomfortable, it’s crucial for fostering a culture of accountability and righteousness.

Scripture suggests exposing darkness starts with self-examination. We must be willing to hold our own lives up to the light of God’s Word, allowing it to reveal any areas of compromise or sin. Then, with wisdom and love, we are called to address and expose the deeds of darkness in our broader communities.

The purpose of this exposure is not condemnation but transformation. It’s an invitation for repentance and change, both for ourselves and for others.

Today, as you contemplate Ephesians 5, consider how you can be a light in your environment. Pray for the courage and discernment to expose darkness in a way that honours God and encourages righteousness. Remember, in doing so, we contribute to a world that more accurately reflects the kingdom of God.

Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. (Ephesians 5:11)

Let’s Pray

Yahweh, please help me to have no fellowship with the unfruitful deeds of darkness. Give me the courage to stand up against them and to reprove them. May I always walk in the light and be a shining example of your love and truth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  1. The Fundamental of the Christian Faith is if we do it right, God will take up residence within our bodies, and when you know it, you feel God working in the Life changing it Day by Day from how we see ourselves and the Outside World? As Christ says, The kingdom of Heaven is within you.

We live in a Culture where the majority don’t like to hear the word SIN.
In my Faith I’ve experienced God is SO GOOD, it’s counter productive and vain, to attempt to force God’s LOVE for the Sinner on anybody, knowing Jesus the Jew died for us all, breaking down the WALL between Jew and Gentile, ushering in the COMMON ERA.
Obviously, after 2000 years, we Jews and Christians haven’t done the works necessary to do with Christ, and do what has to be done with God’s help to make it so.

To me, what has to be one of the Highest Priorities to implement, in the Bible, Old Testament and New Testament, starting 1st in our Individual Lives, is this Vision in Revelation 3 which should be the Spiritual Goal of ALL TRUE Believers.
    These things say the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the Creation of God;
I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot: I would you were cold or hot.
So then because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of my mouth.
Because you say, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and know not that you are wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

I counsel you to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that you may be rich; and white raiment, that you may be clothed, and that the shame of your nakedness do not appear; and anoint your eyes with eyes salve, that you may see.

As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
To him that OVERCOMES will I grant to SIT WITH ME IN MY THRONE, even as I ALSO OVERCAME, and AM SET DOWN with my Father in his throne.
He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

To me, overcoming in the Spirit of that letter, is hitting the Bulls Eye having reached that ONENESS with God in every sense of ONENESS, both Physical and Spiritual.

In Archery, falling short of that Goal is called SIN. That’s how I convey it to not yet having a personal relationship with Christ.
