The pastor of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church 6756 Paw Paw Avenue in Coloma is Jay Hartmann, a native Texan. Before studying for the ministry he worked in construction and four years in the oil field in Texas, Wyoming, and offshore. In 1982 the Holy Spirit guided him to go to Immanuel Lutheran College to prepare for the ministry. After completing four years of college he entered the seminary. Pastor Hartmann graduated from Immanuel Lutheran Seminary in Eau Claire, Wisconsin in 1992. Prior to being called to be the pastor of Faith Lutheran, Pastor Hartmann served as pastor of Trinity Lutheran, Watertown, and Zion Lutheran, Hidewood, both in South Dakota; Grace Lutheran, Live Oak, Florida; St. Paul Lutheran of White River and Peace Lutheran of Mission, both in South Dakota; Grace Lutheran in Fairbanks, Alaska and Resurrection Lutheran of Corpus Christi, Texas. Pastor Hartmann and his wife love the area and enjoy the seasons and outdoor activities. Pastor Hartmann is especially fond of ice fishing and cars. They hope they will be able to call this home for many years to come.
