Remember the Sabbath!
This is an amazing must see video which explains why it is important for us to keep the Sabbath. It also reminds us of the importance of obeying God in many other areas.
Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
Yes, we are saved by Grace but God wants us to obey Him, this is all that He desires from us. I am reminded of the story of the wedding of Cana in John 2, where the wine ran out at the feast. Mary confronted Jesus about this problem and told the servants to do whatever He tells them:
Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.
Our lives are like this, we must do as God tells us. We must "fill the vessels" when He tells us to and not just fill it halfway but fill it up "to the brim." Here we learn a basic principle in how God operates - first God gives us a command, we must then obey Him, and He will give us a blessing in the end of it all for our obedience. In this story, the water was turned into wine and this was Jesus' very first miracle, in like manner, God desires to bless us through our obedience to Him:
1 John 5:3
For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
This video was uploaded with permission from SDR Ministries. I am non-denominational, while I absolutely agree that we are to keep the Sabbath, I do not agree with some of their doctrines they teach like soul-sleep for one, nevertheless, they are absolutely correct about keeping the Sabbath.
The Bible indicates that the Sabbath day starts from sundown Friday until sundown Saturday because the progression of each day, dictated by God, is actually from evening to evening (Leviticus 23:32; Mark 1:32; Nehemiah 13:19; Exodus 12:18). The Bible also indicates to us that we are not to buy or sell on the Sabbath as well (Nehemiah 10:31). In any case, there is simply no biblical reason for abandoning the Sabbath. God does not change:
For I am the LORD, I change not...
And His words are eternal:
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
As such, when He tells us to "Remember the Sabbath" then we must, it is as simple as that. Let us all repent now and turn to God rather than obeying men (Acts 5:29), please share this video with everyone you know!
1 John 2:4
He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
